Blackguards Firestaff, Ice gauntlet, Void Gauntlet Proposed Changes

Changes like this discourage so hard from keep playing the game. I know you can’t make everyone happy, but this change will make a lot of players mad for no reason.
Plagued is healthy for future content aswell(arenas), will make healers less op in 3v3.

I don’t hate the idea of better rewards in mutations. You are right, they don’t feel rewarding at all if you have the shards. People looking for named items just farm normal versions bc it’s easier and it seems the drop rate is better. Harder difficulty should net better rewards. I believe AGS is moving in the right direction as it seems the Isabella armor pieces are a mutation exclusive. The other BOP non item mutation exclusives from other dungeons are basically garage and not worth it. We need more desirable loot in mutations for sure.

That said, this is a change that should not be made retroactively. Those players that have been lucky enough to find them already should get to keep them untouched. They are good weapons, but I would not consider them OP. From a pure dmg standpoint, they aren’t as strong as others in game, so I don’t think there’s much from a balance perspective by leaving those in game already unaffected. They spend the orbs, spent valuable time, and likely the umbral shards (more time to obtain) in order to obtain those disirable weapons.

The one thing in life we can never get back is time, do not makes ours feel wasted with this retroactive change.

Another HUGE slap in the face of mages in this game. I’ve been doing this new dungeon just because of these drops, and spent a lot of umbrals on them for what? throw it in some random inventory to never use it again :slight_smile: While Plague strikes is op in dev’s opinion, we do have a bis hatchet and a bis warhammer droping in this blackguard’s collection (dont need to mention Fury warhammer here too, right?). Should we talk about rings? Is there any decent ring for a fire/ice mage in this game? No, not even close to a good one, and guess what, we have more than one BIS option for the same warhammer/great axe/hatchet build. What’s the point on that? Why mages needs to craft ALL their gear, and spend LOTS of time farming to make money to buy those BIS itens, and the other builds can just go for those drops? Just an example, in my server a ring just like smooth bone ring but with int or con stats are way more than 400k gold, going for 500k range or even more cuz every mage is waiting for someone to hit this craft, in the other hand every single strengh player just own smooth bone ring drop, spent 0 gold on that, and dont need to care about rings ever again. Is there any reason on that? Is that fair? Besides that, crafters never goes for INT itens on their crafts. If u are a mage u need to go for those cruel crafts that only makes you spent HUGE ammounts of money and never get a single bis item.

It’s honestly BS if they change the perks… we finally get some good INT gear/weapons from a dungeon and they can’t leave it be.

Hey @Zelme , sorry to bother you again as I know you must be super busy putting ideas and suggestions to the Devs. But could you confirm if this had been sent over for consideration?

These weapons in mutations would also be required for 3 v 3 and already a great way for players for entry level weapons!

Please listen to the players on this one. Don’t nerf a fan favorite that people have poured tons of time and resources into obtaining.

While we are at it, I think the recent VG nerfs have been too much. You get the sense that the VG is falling out of favor; it’s only used as a utility weapon to drop Nullifying Oblivion these days.

dude void gauntlet doesnt have plagued strikes ,like why are people saying it has it you included?? Black Guard Void gauntlet has keen, keenly jaged, plagued crits not strikes so why would they change it to what ever ??

I don’t think I ever me mentioned that it did have plaguestrikes? But it will be changed from plagued crits to refreshing evasion.

These changes are ridiculous and show the people making these “balance” changes are not playing the game.

For those of us who have limited time to play and do not have access to regular M10 groups, this change to the Blackguard’s magic weapons is a huge, neigh unprecedented nerf. There are currently no close to Best in Slot named magic weapon drops, but dozens of options for melee weapons–apart from Blackguard’s Void Gauntlet, Fire Staff, and Ice Gauntlet. Replacing an S-tier weapon perk with a C-tier armor perk completely destroys the viability of these weapons.

I had hoped the weapon balance dev team would have learned from the negative feedback from the Dynasty mutated weapon perk changes (like seriously? Every weapon got Refreshing?) but it seems like they’re taking another step in the wrong direction. Hell, the explanation provided in the patch note doesn’t make sense. It claims the Void Gauntlet has Plagued Strikes, but it actually has Plagued Crits. The justification is completely invalidated, as Void Gauntlets already can roll Plagued Crits.

Furthermore, other Firestaves and Ice Gauntlets have "Plagued " perks on them!

Forget about adding in a whole new set of weapons; that’s likely going to get shot down by the amount of work it would take to code and implement the new weapons, as well as art and balance passes. The first priority should be a reversal of the changing of Plagued perks on these weapons–immediately.

Wasn’t there a worse perk for you guys to put on magic weapons?
Nerf magic weapons until no one else uses them.
That’s what we want right?

Already asked in 10 other game feedback still didnt get one answer just ignored everytime , so gonna ask you asweel @Zelme why is Blackguard Void Gauntlet getting changed when it doesn’t posses heavy plagued strikes perk

because they hate mages, thats all.
melee players can have fury, blackguard hammer and hatchet, dex users can have dryad spear and even impossible perks combinations like lazarus bow and infamy but mages having an actually BiS Drop? hell no xD

where do you see plagued strikes on blackguard void gauntlet ? thats why people are tagging you all the time @Zelme as you did a misscommunication mistake claming blackguard void gauntlet has plagued strikes while it doesnt , hence why all the post on forums are happening as you are balantly ignoring Black guard void gauntlet perks while claiming it has plagued strikes so you can nerf it ??? re check Perks on BLACKGUARD VOID GAUNTLET before you lose even more player base after you gonna put this ingame people wasted shards on gear etc and you gonna make blackguard Ice gauntlet and void gauntlet litterly the worst drops ever so people wasted so many shards time for nothing ?? ATLEAST TELL US WHY BLACKGUARD VOID GAUNTLET IS GETTING CHANGED even tho it doesnt have plagued strikes on it ???

I salvage my void gauntlet after i got the blackguard one. So if they gonna put the stupid refreshing perk my old one could be way much better… Great logic. Test servers are for this changes not the live server. Change the perks before they go live it is so simple.

It’s funny because people told them about this in PTR threads. They just ignored then when they finally got a clue they are changing the perks after people have already invested in it in the live version. It’s too late for that.

Also, VG doesn’t even have that perk is the real killer. Why couldn’t they actually choose a good perk. Even chain void is better than refreshing evasion on void gauntlet. Or what they really should have done is went with refreshing move if they really wanted to change it. Smh

wut blows my mind is it doesn’t even have plagued strikes and they changing ,like do you play your game @Aenwyn ? since you clearly dont know perks of your own weapons or that gen or tempest still not fixed after 3 patch fixes one would assume you dont play your own game …
