Blocking + Heavy Armor. Why is rapier a better defensive choice than SnS?

Can we buff the efficiency of blocking a bit more? Even in heavy armor Rapier provides more ability to survive than SnS (in a PvP environment).

Or separate blocking from stamina usage?

Heavy block stability increased by 15% on live right now. Make it like 50%.

Heavy armor blocking should be as oppressive as light armor rolling.

I would like to see blocking be an action. Like rolling. You use your shield/weapon to block and instead of using stamina for EACH attack you use one of a number (maybe 3-4 for heavy 2 for medium and 1 for light?) of charges separate from stamina completely. For example you use 1 charge and block for a set duration. Then blocking would feel similar to how dodging feels and a viable and different option for heavy?

Could this be a good start to balancing heavy?

They’ve said recently at one of the devcast things (sorry I forgot what they were called) that they were looking into buffing blocking in general, so hopefully we see that soon. :pray:

Yeah it just feels kinda lazy. Why can’t they just increase the efficiency of heavy blocking in the meantime.

It’s literally changing one number from 15% to a higher %.

Who knows when AGS is going to rework heavy class SnS blocking, might be awhile. They’ve done nothing but nerf SnS for some reason.

rapier is one of those things that has been broken from a defensive and get out of jail card from day one, yet devs seem to be reluctant to do anything about it. It single handily prolongs arena fights unnecessarily and is just too much of a get out of jail card for players.
