Blunderbuss is too weak now, 100% needs a buff

First of all, I wanna to thank the AGS team; you did amazing job and you gave us very fun/skill-dependent weapon - BB.

I know, in some situations (and on paper) it feels pretty strong. And it can be pretty strong.
But there is one big problem here:
because of servers desync/lags/bad hitboxes/common range problem-when-you-cannot-shoot-people-near-you it’s not that strong at all.
We literally miss 30-60% of our shots just because of netcode, not because of skill.

How it can be solved? Of course we can cry a lot about netcode, but it’s just our reality, cannot be solved fast/cheap. I believe you should think about

  1. increasing bb base damage, like in fire staff. It’s just to small now.
  2. solving an old problem, where orich cartrige bonus (20%) doesn’t work for eflemental part of bb’s damage, if it has an elem gem. Very annoying, musket and bow works fine in same situation.
  3. changing position of fire-point inside blunderbuss model - to avoid situation when you cannot shoot guys near you.
  4. it’s a very common thing when net shot hits the ground under you and do nothing. pls take a look

Frankly, this is genuinely a good point. Looks like you clearly played the BB unlike the people asking for nerfs.

I was sometimes wondering why some shots would miss in totally random circumstances yet other, harder(further from the enemy) shots would be able to hit with no problems.

I believe the weapon has a desync/lag/bad hitbox problem as you mention and it might be worth looking into it.

bb is dog aside from the heavy fortify tank cheese builds, think they gotta really nerf the fortify and move the damage up a smidge. but if they buffed it without first addressing the fortify thats bad news

If you think BB is weak then something is clearly wrong with your own gameplay.
BB is strong and abilities like net shot to strong.

it was good then the gs came out. just better burst and range lmao. handicapping urself having to solely rely on shrapnel blast instead of heat seeking heavy autos

net shot i will say is too strong when it works. but it probably wont

I don’t think it’s very weak, but I think it doesn’t work like devs meant it to work.
Elem damage cut + desync + net shot problem. They think it works like on paper but it doesn’t. And it’s why BB should be buffed.

I believe the net shot is indeed quite strong with the Exhaustive Net Shot perk on the weapon, maybe 55% for 8 seconds is indeed high and it can be tuned down to something like 50%.

I would take the perk nerf any day if they do fix the hitbox/desync issue though.

As is right now, BB is not too strong. Certainly you can’t compare it to a musket or a GS.

The hit registration with the BB is an absolute joke. How come muskets can hitscan at that range no problem but a shotgun aimed directly at someone 5m away somehow misses every shot?

Damage is fine but the fact that the ammo bug is still being ignored despite being reported almost a year ago is very annoying.

They can hotfix BB out of the game in one day if net shot does too much slow but can’t fix the ammo bug after 10 months.

Hitreg is also absolutely terrible. People’s DPS in BB goes in the gutter because shots clearly hit and connect and play the visual and sound effect… and still do zero damage.

BB is literally just hampered by the unresolved bugs and unreliability, not even because of bad perks or stats.

lmao. no. BB is literally meta in wars and arena and also one of the best 1v1 builds in the game. Its more than fine, if anything it needs nerfs, but mise well just leave it put since pretty much everything is super OP right now.

Musket no reg shots all the time. Even against bison where the bullet trail is clear as day passing through them.

On players it’s harder to confirm but frequent sus misses.

Fix the desync not buff weapon fixed a lots of problems if they fix desync

It’s obvious that they CAN’T fix desync, it’s engine/netcode/tickrate. That’s why there is no reason to ask for that fix.

Yeah put bandage on everything

A duct tape is only a temp fix
Every time something gets added desync and other issues pop up because of these bandage yeah lot of work if u consider short term but u will have to deal with a lot more of u don’t take the effort and fix it

Of course I wanna see desync fix too, but as a software dev I understand that it’s nearly to be impossible. I suggest to focus on something that can be done easily.

Maybe it’s worth looking into the problem and the fix isn’t actually that impossible to achieve.

Is this a joke post? LOL . Int bb has probably the strongest burst in the game. He does well in all pvp scenarios.

The devs can make the bullets less out of sync, but then they will need to be nerfed in terms of damage and burst potential.

Light bb/ig is OP as hell.
