Blunderbuss - Likes and Dislikes

So I play Intelligence weapons.

What I like about the Blunderbuss is it’s a Thrust damage option, which is great because I felt like casters suffered against Corrupted a bit not having a bonus damage option. I like most of the abilities and think they synergize well. Azoth Blast in particular is a very fun ability and combos well. I like the mobility and crowd control aspect as well. Azoth Blasting, a couple shots, and then a CC effect or disengage feels pretty satisfying.

However, I dislike all the Fire damage from the Blunderbuss. The other enemy type I felt like casters suffered against was Ancient because the Fire Staff gets hit really hard there. I was hoping the Blunderbuss would be an option… but Azoth Blast, Mortar Charge and the grenade are all Fire damage abilities. I feel like this should perhaps be changed more to Thrust, at least for Azoth Blast and Mortar Charge.

Mortar Charge is also too slow and the AoE range too small. I feel like I’m better off not using it because it takes so long to activate in AoE situations, doesn’t do enough single target damage, and too many things cancel it out (and there’s no Grit perk or talent).

I also feel like we need the ammo indicator elsewhere. The middle of the screen is often so full of stuff happening that I can’t see them. I’d prefer it down by the ability bars.

should probably not be fire at least. the other explosive abilities makes sense but azoth implies its a different element.

could of made it interesting and let it convert any elemental gem you had into full damage

Air damage would’ve been a good idea, actually. Or smash for the mortar charge. Blunderbuss won’t solve any issues with any of the changes until they fix a few bugs (Azoth shrapnel flying into space, grenades falling through the floor and breaking stun before they explode) and QOL errors, as well as buff the base damage back to where it was. They hard nerfed it from PTB without considering the fact that nerfing every single part of it was a bad idea
