I fully agree with you there @CrowGin75 , I have seen more group people being leechers than solo players NOT adding dps to a boss fight after 1 hit.
@CrowGin75 No one has assumed that all Solo players are leeches, we are referring to those that are not active in the battle/ do the bare minimum, but just go there to retrieve most/all of the loot. I have seen this happen with my own eyes on countless occasions and it can be a very frustrating experience for all community members and this is what we want to improve on.
I have informed the team of trying to take a closer look at loot drops and figure out a way it can be amended so not all the quality loot is taken by the players doing hardly any damage/healing as that is unfair to those who are doing most of the work.
This still allows there to be participation from all parties but then each play will be accredited correctly.

Seriously the loot rewards are very lame. It’s like can we get a drop that really will be useful to our class? It seems all the loot drops are fxxking random and it pisses me off.

good feed back. But what about the Damage a player does to a boss? If im solo and i jump in to help a group of 10 or more. Shouldn’t my damage be considered for drops as well? Each player has their own loot table due to the amount of Effort they put in?
I do 27% of Damage so i should get a “%” chance at a drop. Regardless of TIER of the items or Quality?
Sure you might get those " NON active participants" They run up hit the Mob once! And get some T5 Legendary item. Sure i can see this being a HUGE issue. But once again. A lot of solo players should have a fair chance at loot for their “Participation”

@CrowGin75 I completely agree, if a solo player is doing their part and actively participating and dealing damage, then they should get a dedicated piece of the loot. There is no confusion there, what we want to do is ensure that those who are not doing anything, do not have an opportunity to just run up and steal the hard-earned loot of other players who were doing all the work.

Try once a week for FFXI…Or Triggers that had random spawn timers between 18-24 hrs. You miss a window you don’t do Sky end game content…That shit was hard core…BDO was never about camping Bosses it was about grinding levels and pvp…that was their content.
And btw NO one is whining. people are trying to get a fair and just system. And weed out the random players coming up and griefing loot.

Well. I do think the current system is fair and we’ll implemented. … I mean it could be more difficult to get a good gear but it is what it is.
I don’t like the fact how often we get epic items… I wish they would be really rare to find.

I’m all for it being MEANINGFULLY…but imagine if loot was RARER right? Toned down from 40% to say…15%…NOW imagine you’re a Light Staff / Ice G. user…And you get that nice shinny legendary Lightstaff…only for the Light Staff to have on it a Perk for Hatchet!.. It would be very disappointing!
I don’t mind the loot system as is…"%" wise on drops…Sure maybe some tweaks are needed. But if i set out to farm some mobs for “Rare drops” I would want my time to be rewarded…Sure i might not get that Fancy Bow or Fancy chest piece with +30Dex on it etc.
I’d still like it to make the time worth the grind / farm 
This game is super easy for groups and hard for solo players,
those guys want to make it even easier for groups and harder for solo people,
please don’t listen to them, those ideas are ridicules.
There are other real issues in the game, don’t break what is actually working.
well they could MEANINGFULLY make it so weapons do not get perks that don’t fit to the weapons. that would be a good start.
Loot limit should only be an issue if 10 strangers are hitting a boss. Contribution should be group based - if your group contributes enough to earn loot, then the whole group should be getting loot as an entity, so counts as one loot drop (guess game could amend it to being 2, but essentially the idea is as a group you get rewarded, tanks and healers included). So a group fights a boss, some stragglers join in, no worries, group will earn loot as a whole unless they are really bad, the couple stragglers also earn loot because the group being an entity does not count as 5 item cap
I’m not sure why people think this is so hard to come up with a solution. It’s simple if you engage in the fight you get loot period. This will stop all the harassments and player griefers that is going on with only 5 RANDOM people getting loot from open world bosses.
I’ve had players/groups pull extra mobs (flaming sword guy) onto our group so we would wipe over and over again till our group was tired of it and left.
if everyone was able to get loot and not have the game pick 5 RANDOM people this would solve the problem.
Can we please get confirmation that entities can drop loot to a maximum of 5 individuals??

I just know from experience, we had two groups of 5 all in discord and every time we kill the boss with only 5 we all got loot 100% of the time. Once more than 5 started to attack the boss 5 random people from the group of 10 only got loot while the other 5 got nothing.
Your first sentence is just wrong. more than 5 people can receive loot. It becomes inefficient with more than 2-3 groups. The system works fine how it is. Kind of annoying when a zerg is running around ruining the loot for everyone including themselves, but it’s not that bad overall.
