Rarely do I find as much fun in a game as I have in New World. I can reasonably understand the changes made since the beginning. I can even understand how things went so wrong initially. The one thing I can’t reason is why AGS does not stop the bots.
I would GLADLY pay a subscription fee to stop the bots. It’s not that I can’t harvest, I can. They ruin the market, they give unfair advantage to people, they make our job of harvesting less productive.
AGS you really have two options.
Stop the BOTS
or
Lose people like me who would spend money (Not P2W PLEASE) for a fair, no cheating type of MMO
To be clear, I do not mind if a level 60 sneaks in and mines my ore while I fight off the monsters. That’s fun and next time I will do it to them.
Please, please, please ban the licenses using them. Gather evidence (go invisible and record, data analysis, reply back to our reports saying they are banded, etc…)
There must be a dozen ways to curb the proliferation of bots, however it’s a taboo subject at AGS.
For example, the last proposal I made lasted two days before being closed on the forum. Sad!
One way to fix the bot situation is to quit playing. I do not want to bring negative attention to New World as I sincerely like the game. If I quit though then I’m done and won’t be back. I am professional career employee with money to spend, more money than time. I would rather keep searching for that MMO that answers my MMO itch. I thought I had it here with AGS and New World. I was tempted to buy some skins just to show support. I did not yet as I really am new to the game and wanted to ensure I would stay. Now I am wanting to stay but NOT if they can’t stop bots. @AGS@NewWorld

Agreed. Bots are killing it for me.
These were taken in 5 minutes of me running around outside of Windsward. This does not even remotely scratch the surface.
As far as AoC, I would not put too much faith into it. They are making some of the same mistakes that New World is making. What concerns me is the PVP centric nature, the seriously ambitiousness of the project (its the MMORPG fantasy version of Star Citizen for all intents and purposes) Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a money making and balanced PVP MMORPG. EvE would be the closest, but its toxic as F and is still niche.
The only two MMORPG’s on the horizon that will be worth their weight will be Throne and Liberty and Riots World of Runeterra, but that one is pure speculation as we know little about it.
When they ban a bot, I wonder if it is possible to pull logs and see who they have been trading with? And also who that person is trading with, etc etc etc. Then maybe also ban the accounts they are giving gold to? Probably to much work. Just thinking if you start getting rid of the gold buyers, that would help a lot.
