I will explain some things to you as a developer (a game designer more specifically). First lots of this is ran through automation and collects information over a period of time, say a few months. During this time these accounts may not be banned. Second, Often the individuals who are assigned to handling these issues are studying these individuals in question and the way they do things so that more stronger defenses can be made against them.
Ultimately you should just exercise patience with this and trust the team is doing what they can to deal with them.
You’d be surprised that most gold farmers or bots do not come “from” the United States. Players from around the world, like Indonesia are notorious for “gold farming” and “botting” on US servers so they can trade currency value from US dollar to Rupiah (If that’s correct) which they receive more bang for their buck. How might I know this? I’m on a US East server and the gold farmers that make up the server are from Indonesia and they’ve been there gold farming for quite some time, you know “who’s who in the zoo”.
I have encountered quite a few of Indonesian “gold farmers” on my server to where I am in the same vicinity as them farming Wyrdwood, Lodestone, Gold Ore, Silver Ore and Ironwood, they would repeatedly whisper me in their language (which I would need to use Google Translation) to understand what they’ve said) and at times type in English informing me that they’ve “reported me” for “Behavior” when I’m just minding my own business farming the same goods yards away and pester me to 1 v 1 duel them which I decline every time. Sorry, but no one owns a “area” they are farming especially when there’s 10+ gatherable resources in a close nit area. They are simply there to harass players who are taking up “their” resources regardless if there’s plenty of gatherables to go around for everyone else to gather.
There is a bot farming Fort Ramos on every server. AGS could ban them in seconds if they wanted to. They are easy to spot and are there 24/7. I wonder how long it will take the fresh start servers to be over run in the same way?
We report the same bots for days & weeks and no one does anything to ban them !!!
Been reported the same bots everyday in the game, did submited ticket with evidence as well, and the support team is sleeping or is not existing at all?!
Shoot last night seen 2-5 running around level 40 + no company. You beat them out to a node they stop briefly and path to the next one. Ironically skipping some of the smaller nodes. I mean its blatantly obvious that is a botting activity. Was doing some gathering waiting for the group finder, did the dungeon came back and that bot still doing the same circle.
Its not bot problem to much ppl, to lessstuff to farm.
You came to wood spot and its empty, you go to another,… empty… but you never considered its 2k ppl online and about 700 farming in open world and you blame bots ;D
nah…we do consider. but seems like you have no idea how smooth the bots these days…almost legit like a real player with their light armour to move faster, fast nodes scan…mosly bots now are lvl 60 and no longer factionless to avoid suspicious. “normal” player wont be able to recognise them.
Bots will be on the fresh start servers and the economy will need them. Without the bots there would be nothing to buy on the TP and or prices would be much higher for resources. Thats the main reason why AGS don’t do much about the bots, it’s like cheap labour, it keeps the economy going. If the TP was cross server then you wouldn’t need the bots to keep individual economies going and then AGS could actively remove the bots.
I hate bots, I never buy from the TP and I farm all my resources myself. I spend a lot of time trying to trap bots with tents and killing the bots that are flagged over and over again when I notice the route/ spawn point.
Bots will be on fresh start servers, it doesn’t matter how much it upsets you or how much you don’t want to believe it, it’s a fact! Deep down you know it’s true. Just because I was correct about the reason why AGS isn’t doing anything about the bots doesn’t mean you have to lash out and throw a tantrum.
Going by the fact that I stated that if the TP was cross server then AGS would then be able to actively remove the bots and you didn’t like it, I would conclude that you are an ignorant bot user and have no idea what you are talking about.
There is an “easy” way to fix this issue. Make resource nodes respawn location random. From what I noticed, most bot programs work by following the fixed node locations. Making it spawn random, in the same area, might reduce the number of bots. This will also fix the issue with people camping nodes

If bots were necessary for the economy AGS would introduce them. The act of saying they are necessary in their current form is just saying its fine to cheat and just buy gold of these parasites.
Once the trade post is cross server, I am sure there will be enough listings that AGS will actually ban the bots. Till then I doubt they will do anything about it.
Fresh servers got swarmed by bots too lol, at first i thought there are some newcomers , after i followed them around for a while & where was supposed to be resources they was hit 3-4 times in mid air and move on to next supposed node spot.
AG need a team of 24/7 GM’s to take efficient measures against bots. What they posted almost 1y ago that they take it serious wasn’t proven yet.
