Bots, bots, and.. bots

I know. My server is so dead, the only people I see out gathering resources are bots.

This game perhaps never planned for active managers per server and instead, AGS relies on automation.

Most reports will get likely lost to the wayside, but if there are enough quantity reports, they may investigate. Should the bot manager respond and says some fake story like “I’m the company gatherer” in an appeal, AGS will give them a pass, and the bot army continues. Should they get punished, it might be a limited suspension.

Bottom line, an indirect method of automation is used with staff reviewing an avalanche of reports after the fact will not stem the tide of bots. So the bots continue, as per the design of the game sadly.

I love to farm and me on Murias stop counting the bots. I reported some but i see the same characters with names like sdfgfgd over and over again. Sometimes i try to kill them whats pretty fun near water or with support of animals. I hope those bots and players obviously trade with them will be banned. 4 month is way to long and the damage for each server too high.

So is it awkward to say I miss bots on my server? Bots = healthy economy.

on my server, bots are already running around the starting cities, they are not afraid of anything. They are unloaded in the Windsward bank and auction. A serious blow to the reputation of the game, does not contribute to the growth of the number of customers

I reported a lodestone farmer bot today, he was so obvious he was clicking E 20 times when i was nearby.

Bot World is back in full swing and the outsourced support team tasked with deleting them is back to ignoring the reports. They blew some smoke up our asses for a few days by deleting a few of them…now back to business as usual. Welcome to Bot World.

I was wondering our ingame currency is called gold or taler, so i googled it and found instant a list of those buy ingame gold websites. Well if those websites no longer possible, i think most of the bots will gone. I mean if i am right they use the bots to farm, then make gold and then someone trade it p2p ingame after ur purchase i guess. That they bring the gold direct to player is written in their description. Are those websites legal anyway? And when this problem solved, not only for NW, then the remaining bots are only for the lazy gamers and should be banned. I think about the bot problem a lot and no good idear to solve it so far.

There is a rumor going around on my server that the top factions who own windsward are selling there gold :grimacing: so it’s not just bots

That’s a cancer

There are so many bots on my server. It’s insane. I was trying to think about a creative way to get rid of them.

I totally understand it’s a problem that’s universal in most mmos, but I think there could be some potential in throwing out a unique solution.

A “captcha”- esq puzzle that you have to solve to switch off PvP. Like make it an affirmation of Aeternum or something that you need to solve once a real hour or otherwise, you’re defaulted to PvP. Do away with the PvP toggle only in sanctuaries. Allow people to toggle anywhere BUT to do it you have to complete the affirmation puzzle. Which like if you do that against a person, they’ll probably kill you before you can finish it. But a bot wouldn’t have that opportunity.

I’m sure they’ll come out with some route check or activity monitor that’ll get programed around.

Population is dropping fast enough that it won’t be worth it for the goldsellers much longer. There are, however, some regular players who run their own bots.

This is the company which ruins our game and the people there are victims of corporate rules:

"Developers played Halo or watched Amazon Prime Video while waiting for Lumberyard to process art or compile code, several former employees say. A common refrain around the office, according to a former employee: “Lumberyard is killing this company.

Part of the problem with bots is that AGS doesn’t have active server admins to fix issues and stop bots. So they rely on indirect reporting and automation. This is also the reason why mass reporting shot callers before a war is successful as well, despite lip service from AGS staff.

Apparently, AGS has the most expertise with disposable mobile games, so it’s the reason we get gate locking to content and indirect reporting/feedback as the solution.

They will never be able to fight against the Bots, this issue is a problem for all mmorpg and it is impossible to fight against them.
The best way would be to allow them and in fact create your own free one, this generates that when more people use the free one of the company “AGS” itself, the developers of the external bots lose money and it is not profitable for them, also by allowing everyone to use it they are all with the same advantages and it would not really affect the economy. “If you can’t fight the enemy, join the enemy”.

Sorry my bad English

Wait a sec!!! I have a sdfgfgd on my server as well. hmmm, that was either always gathering green wood if memory serves. They always are never part of a faction or a company. Been reporting them for the past 3 months as well.

Heck!, i would even offer to AWS my second character slot just to be an admin to patrol my server just to get rid of them and let the people have an enjoyable experience. Really wish they had telemetry data to say that the person has been doing the same exact route XX billion times a day. The developers talked about it coming into getting the reports to the right group but they need to stop them faster. We dropped 50% when they banned VM’s from connecting. just need to g et rid of that last part now.

this bot stay everyday in US EAST - Silha farming the orichalcum, same spot , same script, same macros, several companies reported him but amazon doesnt do nothig.

What you said is the reason I quit the game. I put up with lots of things being wrong with the game, bugs, etc - but the Fishing bot I reported daily for well over a month on City of Brass - was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I haven’t played in 2 wks now and it’s doubtful I will ever go back. There is NO excuse for the lack of attention to the bot problem. IF New World really wanted to FIX it, - they would have live GMS go check these reports out and perma ban them. I can only assume they care more about the bot armies overrunning the game than they do about the players that have supported them through alphas, betas, bugs and everything else.

I’ve seen this exact guy - all he does is stand there and harvest all of the Ori nodes day in and day out.
