im sincerely asking to revert the bow change happened to patch 1.1
not being able to chain the skills with the normal attack made the weapon bulky and unfun to play, i can’t really enjoy playing the game like i was before. Other weapons can still combo off skills with auto attacks, i don’t see why bows can’t. it was very fun to follow a simple attack with a penetrating shot, now i feel like something is laking with the weapon, and this makes the game very unfun for bow users. i know maybe it was not intended, but it was a cool mechanics that made the bow fun and smooth to play, now it feels so bad
er… I’m not with you. I mean… am… but this isn’t a change is it? I’ve always been pulled out of aim when I use skills and it’s always been a bit clunky trying to chain skills.
Wait, when was 1.1! You mean this was added? and here I was thinking it was just dumb bugs.
I’m using a bow and a rapier, The bow is good, its just very situational. It has the same limitations as real life, but it doesn’t do near the damage a real bow would do (relative to other game weapons).
im not really into damage and pvp cause i mostly do pve, my only complain is that not being able to chain attacks with skills like it was before made it so bulky and unfun to play. Tbh this change was not needed, feels so boring to play
But do you not think it’s odd how when you aim and firing fine shot after shot, it’s fine, but the moment you use a skill you are forced out of aim? It feels bad. I think the damage output is ok and would be on par without the stuttering. Even going from skill to skill in a combo is pretty poor. There is a noticeable delay. I only started using the bow a couple of weeks back. Mainly for the speed boost passives. I’ve find of fallen in love with it. Even with the chunkiness.
it’s the delay between attacks and skill that bugs me out. before this patch you could shot an arrow and instant load penetrating shot, making it some kind of combo if you can. now you can’t, and it’s really annoying, feels unfun, bulky and slow. nothing changed between light attacks ecc, but this added delay between attacks and skills is boring
What I am doing, I didn’t take penetrating, because a regular deep draw hits harder, and I use it for an opener. I took Poison shot, rapid shot and Rain of arrows. I did take every skill that makes the bow hit harder, and I do hit like a truck. I open with a deep pull, poison then rapid, if it aint dead, the rapier will finish it. (and a lot of times has to)
I think the delay to penetrating shot is just a bug to be honest. I did notice that. Maybe it is intentional though. It’s one of the troubles when patch notes don’t include everything. We just don’t know.
The things I find odd about the bow:
Evade Shot misses sometimes when I know I have not missed.
Rapid Shot doesn’t always fire. I need to press it twice.
Penetrating shot has a small delay when you load it. If you are in aim mode, sometimes it does not load at all.
When I use any of these skill in Aim mode it pulls me out of aim mode and then there is a delay to go back into aim mode.
I have not done many passives past the speeds boosts but they all seem to work so far.
Just hoping a community manager or dev can give a comment on if this is being looked into, if its an accidental side-effect that wasn’t supposed to happen from the double shot bug fix or if its a design choice and planned on being kept, if its intentional and not being reverted im taking a big break until another fun weapon comes out.
if it’s a bug it would be nice to have a dev response, from what i read from the patch notes looks like they intended to make it like this, and it’s really bad design
If you know anything about small scale pvp you know pen shot was/is the best ability as it can be used in most situations vs any class if you are good with it, and it didnt hit too hard but hard enough to be a great ability. Other abilities apart from evade shot and poison shot are quite trash for small scale pvp and duels because they make you immobile/dont do enough to warrant. Things were fine how they were.
Fair enough. I pvp, but am not a duelist. Just like in real life, warfare isn’t fair and I choose not to engage in fair fights. I would rather shoot you from up on a rock.
Penetrating Shot is a must have in pvp and is a very strong, fun skill to use. Besides, you can’t just say to just abandon an ability, it needs to be viable.
