As a main healer for wars, i love bow/rapier for bOwPR.
I run 460 dex and 50 con and play medium to long range and hit anywhere from 1.5k-6k on specific targets.
Yes sometimes im hitting under 1k.
As a healer i run high thrust resist because thats all that kills me so i assume when im getting low damage numbers, it must be that the player has high mitigation and not the bow being broke.
Indeed, keep in mind i don’t have as many hours on bow as others but i mained Hanzo in overwatch for bow exp if that counts as anything.
I cant see which target i hit because most of the time it is poke damage through fort doors. So i cant say if i hit a heavy (who i assume it was) or high resist light armor.
bow at the start of the game was way more fun then anything now.
very low hp, crazy burts and still a way to survive with jump shot.
that is whats missing with bow.
glass cannon build.
now with no stamina, jump you will die as glass cannon in 3 sec from close distance
but dmg is sub par.
Here let me post another one to disway all the bullcrap talk I hear about how OP the bow is and all the OP damage it does and how you dont have to aim because of bowling ball size hit box…
You can still see the 789 dmg crit shot still fading away
He even has rend debuff on him
Thats a 625 laz bow and I have a ring with extra thrust dmg and 355 Dex.
Enough of the bow is OP nonsense. All the people that like to talk shit about bow never show anything to back it up. I show the truth. Can I hit for 5k? Sure if you are in some stupid meme build with light armor and 50 con and probably no resilient.
Not sure honestly. I have both and dont really notice a difference in damage between them. Hard to say without some kind of combat logs because its not like I can track how often I get extra crit vs how much extra dmg I am doing with thrust. I’m sure someone that wanted to take the time to theory math it out could probably do so but honestly with all the broken stuff in the game and all the different mitigation types you can face, I’m not sure the theory math would be accurate.
I can justify hitting a buffed up tanky build for this i guess but i am curious what your high end is. Like what was your hardest hit in that same opr?
As for this talk of bow being OP now LMAO its a complete joke. Kids just crying that its not as easy to completely trash on bow players as long as the player is decent.
-Bow armor perks still suck.
-Bow has no utility
-All the skills are sub par aside from pen shot
-shoots faster but the dmg got nerf’d
-stamina also got nerf’d
Seems they dont want to give bow anything without taking away some things.
Meanwhile…
-Musket has hitscan, traps and buffs to your shots plus pairs amazing with rapier
-Rapier has a solid escape skill plus repost and evade.
-ice gauntlet has the best CC in the game which makes sense but the range on ice storm is wild plus the root when you heavy attack ppl affected by ice storm like damn! then of course ice wall.
-Void Gaunt has that damn covid skill which while nerf’d is still solid plus the aoe life steal void blade combo again nerf’d but still solid.
-Hammer got stun cc for days
-Great Axe has grav well, life steal, can just swing for the fences doing great dmg while being super tanky and one of the best escape skills in the game.
… do i even need to keep going? lol
The point is it seems all other weapons have been given a bit more to work with than the bow. They need to rework some of the skills and perks. essentially all we got is faster attacks and a slightly bigger projectile.
I agree, thats what I should be hitting tanks for. Not tanky people that put out massive damage too. High end is dependent on what I am hitting. Ive hit some light armor musket players for probably 5k. Ive hit medium players for upwards of probably about 1700. I have seen pen shot crits for 4k rarely but im not sure what that hit because it was into a clump.
Hard to believe you got hit by this much in that build.
I have almost 1000 hours of Bow play exclusively and i can’t remember more than 2 or 3 times situations where I hit someone for more than 6k in PvP. It’s extremely rare.
Not got lie tho, hits for 4.5k or even 5k are common, against light set players with low con and no resilient.
I mean I can 2 shot squishies but they cant have more than 3 stack resil and definitly not combined with shirking fort.
I play constant OPR lately been running 50 con
Its important especially as a squishy to account for positioning and be prepared to dodge/break line of sight.
Dont get me wrong, a proper bow build/player is going to chunk you but what you are describing im just not seeing.
Also at the end of the day you are still in light armor. your mitigation can and should only go so far.
Just my opinion btw
Also consider the fact that bruisers and build up tons of tankyness and still hit like a truck.
Healers in medium are almost impossible to kill solo
casters have access to some of the best cc and aoe dps
for bows to really hit as hard as you describe they would have to be running a pretty squishy build themselves. So if you catch them it usually means death unless you get out played which happens to the best of us.
Im only speaking the truth, all i do is pvp and play with the best players known on servers with best slot gears. And i have alot of thrust gems in my armour, you cant really tell anyting in opr cause your being hit by mutiple range weapons at once mostly bows.
But what im saying is just facts, duelling one of best/decent bow player on server and can stills three shot me down sometimes 4 but mostly three, not wanting bow to be nerf just the rapier more then anything as thats whats keeping bow players alive for so long an unlimited haste when bows roll, keep your fire rate an damage an hitbox. Soon as that raiper gets a nerf bows will be easy work aswell as any class that runs it
