the unfortunate thing is, alot of big companies depend on there zerg of diabetic dad axe hammer builds. so i highly doubt it will be changed soon.
People assuming hitscan is super easy to hit no matter how good the enemy is at strafing zig zagging. In general I think projectile is harder to hit in games, but at the range and the hit box size of bow itâs completely different, aswell as long reload times and vulnerability during reload of musket with extremely slow movement speed. Bow is overturned however I think musket needs a rework. People get annoyed at muskets sat on rocks miles away who just run when people get close, thatâs fair enough I understand that. I personally donât like that playstyle at all and play extremely aggressive in the back line using rapier a ton for dps. I think musket needs a reload speed buff and tone down the damage drop off distance to get them to play closer, this encourages more aggressive play styles and and makes it easier for others to catch muskets. Itâs just completely devoid of logic how easy it is to hit with how the damage you do and the lack of points you need to put into dex to do this damage, where as musket needs 450 minimum to remain viable
As you said itâs a combo what means it is not 1 hit and those combo or even stronger you may do with musket, so many times i die from geting 3 fast insta hits from musket guy who killed my full hp and doesnât matter for him that i was doing dodge. Anyway finally there is a counter for musket camper glass canon players with 5 constituion. Nice to see you crying at forum.

I queued up twice last night as a meme Blunderbuss + Hatchet. The Hatchet just to save myself vs Leaping strike builds.
I have low gs and no perks and had positive k/d in both matches lobbing Mortar Shots and Scatter Bombs. Thatâs all I did from around 20-100m away from my opponents all game.
Low damage but its not hard and I only had use of two abilities for my range and scatter bomb as I was mostly playing too far back to hit with my other ability. And didnât auto attack much either as bb range is low.
Pretty sure I could easily outproduce mortar shot and splitting grenade ranged output with a bow and I donât use bow or have a build for it outside of skinning.
Playing as a ranged dps is an overly safe and easy playstyle. Put on a hatchet and it negated 90% of what I was concerned with dying to.
Please stop being so disingenuous. 70% of my play time is bow spear since beta. I get it. You donât want any nerfs. Bow was great vanilla. It is so much sexier then vanilla right now. Musket being hitscan is irrelevant so just stop. It has the smallest hitbox in the entire game and takes so much skill. People just donât like when an aggressive seasoned musket sets sights on them because they feel helpless and have to constantly be aware of their surroundings because they feel victimized. And no I donât like being victimized by muskets. But have always been able to 1-2 shot them in the back of the head below their perch soâŚbow and musket are natural enemies
I do love how bow feels but the biggest thing is the hitboxes are way too freaking big. I can literally aim 2 inches up between the head and shoulder and the arrow still crashes right into them. Thatâs bullcrap. Iâm enjoying the buffs and having my old cancels but the hitbox increase was just stupid. everyone and their mother is running vorpal on bow right now. You know why? Because hitting headshots is a joke. I have all the headshot skills in my build now. Which makes me need even less Dex. Btw the way jump shot still works. Lmao

Because the bowâs hitboxes are twice as big as any other ranged options. Meanwhile musket requires pixel perfect aim.
And itâs an instant cast which means thereâs no time to dodge between the first and second shotâŚ. So itâs an instant kill
Blunderbuss mortar build is actually really fun seen some people run it in wars!
Yeah, I may have to actually look at putting a cheap build for it together. Unsure if there are decent perks for it and the scatter grenade ability w/e its called. It kind of feels like what Hatchet throwing tree should have ended up like.
Iâve been going more casual with OPR to enjoy it more for my two daily matches. Itâs not a competitive mode so might as well play meme builds.
Bow dmg is not issue. Its ok that weapons hit super hard. Hitbox is issue. Its just to big. Any random player can pick up bow and start hitting like 70-80% shots. Thats the issue. With other weapons you have to practice to get good. Not with bow we have right now.
People acting like putting 500 points into straight damage shouldnât do damage
and is busted, playing on rocks isnât gonna get you many kills as people will just LOS you and get used to where you play. Backline is way more fun

Nah he wasnt built this way for bowPR. On my server we still get a lot of matches with a variety of builds. This screenshot was taken after the patch but it was before bow started to really catch on. This also aint the only one. Its just the only one I have a screenshot of.
I donât think everything needs to be reverted because thatâs just silly, I think hitbox is the main issue Iâd be fine if it was just that
I would say that was your dodge rolls that were able to solo that. You could have done the same with musket or fire staff. Probably even life staff. Would have taken longer thats about it.
Look at the picture. I have spear and the guy is rended. You can see the debuff on his name tag. While I would say that hitting 600-700 is not the norm even for me, he isnt the only guy I hit like that. The norm for me is also not 4-5k average. I actually call bullshit that that is the norm for anyone. My norm is somewhere between the 1-2k mark. Sure, I do hit those 4k shots as well, but thats on a low health, light armor target where I already do more damage from passives.
firestaff is way better in 3v3. Yes bow can hurt there too but it depends on who you are fighting.
If your bow is averaging between 1k-2k damage then youâre doing something wrong. The bow hitbox is ridiculous right now, itâs easier to use than the musket with the ability to run 150-200 con. A bad bow player with 150 con can now easily contest the best musket players forcing the muskets to play back and sit on rocks(which makes everyone mald). Either the hitbox needs a nerf or the damage output because as it is now bow exceeds any other weapon in the game right now without needing high skill.
Weapons will never be balanced in this game because mitigation is too all over the place. Armor perks should never have been stackable. Not even resilient. People can stack and build to the point of making a weapon absolutely useless against them and be practically immune to it. On the flipside of that, someone else will get deleted by the same weapon.
Damage cant just be nerfed or buffed because one person will always get destroyed while the other person will just get tickled and laugh. I have argued about mitigation being out of control for probably 6 months now.
What does hit box size have to do with damage numbers? Explain what I am doing wrong then. I am GS 623. My bow is 625 laz bow. I have also tried other bows but laz bow has done best for me. I have 355 dex. I have a ring with extra thrust damage. I run standard builds for the weapon. Explain what I âam doing wrong.â A shot is a shot. A hit is a hit. My gear is not the best but nothing gear wise is going to change damage. There is no perk that is going to magically change my damage from 1-2k to 3-4k. Those 3-4k shots are possible of course because you can stack a lot of 20% damage bonus passives but those are stars align shots not regular normal every hit shots.
