Bow players will not go quietly into the night

Whatever you say, dude.

You’re exaggerating, overall it’s not that terrible. What’s awful is that gradually, weapon after weapon, patch after patch, all ranged weapons are getting nerfed, but nothing happens to melee weapons. They still haven’t even fixed gravity well…

Holy moly that thread is a giggle and a half.

People literally defending the hitbox hitting behind them.

Whelp.

Oh yeah definitely exaggerating for effect. I still love bow and I won’t be changing it up (even though I do get denied from half the mutations frame 1 on joining when they see I’m running bow…).

Yes, it’s both funny and sad at the same time. Most of the players are melee players, of course they don’t want any fixes in this direction… What to do about it…?

That’s right! Better yet, find yourself a team that will accept you for who you are - Archer ! =)

And smaller hitboxes than arrows when thrown for some reason lol.

So you recon Hatchet buffs needed?

Doesn’t see much play in mutations…arena…OPR…War…

Wait a minute…

I thought hatchet had bad tracking and hit box as well, but just Look at the video of hatchet hit box and tracking in this post. It’s honestly bull shit!

You don’t see many people - at all - spec’d into thrown hatchets. He was specific about it being thrown that he was talking about:

I had a dream once. Woke up with a massive hard on

Well fact is all animation cancels on bow has to be fixed. Even right now bow can shot 2 arrows in like 0.1sec by using animation cancels. Only best bow players can do that, but still. Has to be patched up.

People rarely use the hatchet or rapier as an offensive weapon. Both weapons could probably use offensive buffs.

This is what happens when the balance lead doesn’t do his job and set expectations correctly.

Bow needs more nerfs and tweaking before it’s a reasonable weapon. The risk to reward ratio on it in comparison to other weapons is seriously skewed in the “reward” direction.

Despite the endless complaints on the forums about how “broken” and “toxic” Musket is, you don’t see nearly as many Musket users as you do Bow.

Our devs were a little generous in that re-work balancing patch that came out a few months ago, and the counter-balance patch to put the weapon in line are seriously over due. Do any of you remember how infrequently you saw somebody using Bow before that patch? They were rare, and the players using them were damn well scary because they were good at the game.

Now, they’re everywhere and it artificially turns bad players into good ones, good ones into great ones, and great ones into divine beings who are borderline un-killable.

Have you ever tried to que up for m10 with a bow?

Genuine question.

Have you ever tried to queue up for any mutations at all as a musket?

Genuine question.

My comment was primarily about PvP and how Bow is kinda cringe now, but PvE is a whole other beast, and even in that context, it’s not that bad. There are other weapons that are struggling more in PvE content than Bow and should definitely take priority.

Even more so since using the highest difficulty of a mutation isn’t exactly the best benchmark of whether or not a weapon is valid in that content since it’s a small demographic of people who play at that level of content, and that’s before taking into account the other variables like your server size, time of day you play at, if you’ve made an effort to reach out to other people or make your name memorable, etc.

End game content is going to be more grueling than just standard dungeons, people are going to be min-max tryhards and give reasons why they don’t want you there, that’s just part of the experience, regardless of what game or weapon it is.

If you’re struggling to do the peak end game with a specific weapon or other players aren’t allowing you into groups, I recommend finding a company of chill people who won’t mind, or play with a friend group.

Guys, it’s been like this for a year now. Melee is the priority. The changes in ranged weapon over the past patches only confirms that melee are a priority. Maybe someone doesn’t want to admit it, but the only way you can influence positive changes in the weapon’s ranged is to make friends with the developer, and specifically with the designer of the combat system. And whisper in his ear about the problems of the ranged and ask him to play with the ranged weapons for a couple of weeks.

By the way, the main crap is that in all non-targeted games the melee feel better…
