This is been reported multiple times, and yet here we are.
You press an ability like Pen Shot, you shoot, you ear the shot sound, but it doesn’t work. It’s clearly something related to desync.
It’s been in game since fricking launch…
No, that happens after I try to shoot. This is just an example, this bug happens a lot of times, it’s just a coincidence I’m getting hit (not staggered).
Yeah it doesn’t look like a stagger, maybe a pushback?
But in my experience, this only happens when you get hit at the same time with some attack that also interrupts you (stagger, stun, pushback).
Like for example when you get hit by a Rapier Heavy Attack, it’s gonna push you, and take you out of the aiming animation, if you’re currently aiming.
But yeah, in your case it seems like you were hit by the Musket player on the right, maybe it was the Stopping Power ability?
Or maybe it’s intended that even a regular attack interrupts you if it’s timed perfectly when you cast/attack?
Try to ask the Devs for clarification, it would be nice to know.
It’s also worth mentioning that the Musket doesn’t have a Heavy Attack.
So maybe their regular, zoomed-in attack is intended to interrupt if timed perfectly.
Also, in the video it looks that your shot happens earlier than the Musket on the right that shoots at you.
But if you take into consideration the poor Netcode (server/client bad performance), it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the other way around on the Musket player’s screen. Meaning he shot just a fraction of a second earlier, or just perfectly timed to interrupt you.
Ok, now I don’t have any more videos to link but I’m gonna update the thread with more examples once I have them, and you will see that it’s really not what you are saying. This bug is in game since the launch and has nothing to do with you being hit while you shoot. It’s really a desync issue, basically the animation and the sound of the ability let you believe your arrow is ready when in reality is not, that’s all. I’ll post more proofs so you’ll see
Sounds good, I don’t really know either what the reason is, I was just launching some hypothesis.
But it might be the desync issue.
Sometimes the game freezes for a second, then goes back to normal, with all players around me “teleporting” in new places.
Maybe if you try to cast an ability while/just before that desync happens, the hit doesn’t register, but you lose the cooldown.
I added 4 more examples, playing 3 OPR was enought to get them, since this happens a lot of times…
As you can see, nothing was interrupting me (no hits, staggers etc).
You can see PenShot getting charged on the bow (you hear the charging sound and the arrow begins to glow) then you hear 2 shots sounds, the first one is me pressing LMB to shoot and failing (cause of the bug/desync) and the second one is the one that actually works.
This is not the normal behaviour it should have. In fact, most of the times, I can simply charge PenShot and use it right away without any issues, but sometimes it behaves like I show in these videos.
Now I don’t know if this is purely a desync issue or not, because even if it is, the game shouldn’t allow me to actually fire the shot if the arrow is not really ready, but instead it lets me fire and it even gives me a audio feedback of the shot (the first shot-sound). Therefore I think it’s a combination of desync+bug.
