I’ve dropped down to 8.3% luck and I’m getting more legendary drops and trophy mats than I have ever seen in 900 hours of gameplay. It’s INSANE. This is how 51% luck should feel, but instead all it ever got me was grey items.
You obviously haven’t played enough hours to see that luck is clearly broken in all aspects of the game.
Such ridiculous hyperbole. It’s “killing” the player base.
How about you provide some evidence about how you think Luck is broken? I find it’s working as intended. I wear some luck gear, have a few luck trophies, and I think it’s working just fine.

Harvesting / Skinning / Mining luck is not what I was talking about. I’m talking about loot luck.

There are far too many people who have seen their luck increases as they remove luck from their character for this to be conspiracy theory.

If you aren’t fully decked out in luck, and you are getting decent drops, and you argue luck isn’t broken, you kind of prove my point.
If any of you fellow masochists would like to humor me, I’d like some of you all to try, for gathering/skinning/etc luck, try a loadout that brings you to right around, but not necessarily above 30% from gear. Say 22% gear + luck knife, or around 20% gear + amulet + yield knife (and whatever food you want) and let me know if you notice any difference. I have been running into a weird amount of success staying in that window (28 smolderhide from ~100-125 strange boars, over 50 brightscale from ~125-150 boars at boarsholm) - ive found better success with these two builds (this is only gear im counting here for simplicity): 28.1% total with luck knife, no amulet, and 29.3% with amulet but using yield knife - i have to do more testing but it seems like it drops off if I go over 30% with gear, and I see less of a drop off going from 28.1/29.3 down to 25.3%/24.1% build than going up to 30+ - let me know if any of you experience anything similar (also have 200 skinning and a minor skinning luck trophy, and was pvp flagged)
This has been my experience as well. I honestly feel like once you add a pristine pearl it doesn’t add .5% to 2.8% but replaces the armor value with only the pearls .5%. Once I removed the pristine pearls things seemed to go back to normal but I definitely had reduced quality drops for the entire week I had them in all items. Like everything with AWS it’s just a theory, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this lined up with what’s happening. I spent way too much time driving myself crazy testing this but since it’s RNG there’s never enough data it seems. I’m also not talking about harvesting, that seems to work just fine.
A dev needs to jump into this because theres a few things going on.
There is a huge issue where you have to be under 40% luck to get top tier trophy mats.
But yet players that work hard and get a full luck set/pearls/top tier trophies/pvp luck and over 50% luck are getting less trophy mats and the luck table is broken.
So I worked my ass off to get all the trophies/pvp enable/clothing spending money and I dont get that luck perk back because its broken?
BDO has this system done slightly different, and it honestly works just fine.
You can do Loot Luck systems, but the way they have it is bullshit. It should be a potion or food item that gives you an increase in chance to get higher tier and grade loot for like an 1hr.
Instead they built it as a player stat pretty much, and there is when the system falls apart. Now it becomes a STANDARD rather then a Buff.
You should try reading the post you’re replying to. I’m the one that said luck is clearly broken. Why are you arguing that luck is broken, when it’s exactly what I just said? Lol.
Dude, we both agree on the same thing.
The problem isn’t luck, it’s that the end game is pure RNG. Give players more control over their crafting; give bosses and chests set loot tables so that players can farm pieces of gear they are seeking; let players escape from RNG hell. . .
Getting very little reward for harder/longer grinding than a few patches ago is bad. Not understanding how or why luck 'appears" to be broken makes it worse.
Show us the math, tell us tough titties we nerfed it, just grind harder… whatever, just explain why drops suck now compared to before.
Loot Luck 100% broken since update 1.1.1 any player who been spending the time to loot big chest daily can clearly see that, less luck more rare drops !.
what we need amazon team to check this issue and feed us back. ignoring this will just make more players quit the game.
As mentioned in the developer blog the “Luck” stat does nothing to increase your drop rate or your watermark.
All luck really does it include you in some different loot tables when you are opening chests or killing elites. Just because you are able to access that “legendary” loot table doesn’t mean you will. You still have a 0.1% chance at hitting that loot table and another 0.1% chance at it being a legendary that isn’t trash.
What it does feel like they’ve done is drastically lower the overall drop rates across almost everything, likely to time gate people from finishing HWM and trophy collecting. You can really feel that nowadays when doing chest runs.

It was getting rather late in the year for a winter/holidays patch. Definitely been wondering what was happening.
I’m on of these players that are close to jump off the new world boat. Having perfomance issues, fine, dont find balance with pvp weapons etc, fine, delay events because you arent ready, fine. BUT leaving us BLIND while there is a problem with LUCK (and you cant deny that anymore. the sweet spot before 1.1 is still there, or anything else is resetting your luck/not working), while people have paid A LOT for major trophies, luck jewelery and matching parts is NOT acceptable anymore. Making the sound of silence is NOT working @Kay @Luxendra @swarf @TigerCr4ne @NW_Mugsy @Zin_Ramu We need and I think we DESERVE an answer finally. Your perk you designed the entire game around is NOT working as it should be!
I already up all pieces of my set GS to 600 except pants. I’m about 3 weeks between 570-588 on my pants. Weird is that I up from 590 to 600 in other pieces in like 3 days. It’s definitely broken the luck. Also, PVP luck should be the same as PVE. PVP only need 30-40%+ resources while gathering to incentive spot fights for anxious folks that want gathering fast
Luck has nothing to do with your HWM upgrades. Luck only decide if your loot is white/green/blue/purple/orange. There are 2 different functions. One is Lucksafe that sets your luck to zero when looting. After this the 2nd roll decides about rarity

It’s not even luck, it’s just that doing anything in this game feels unrewarding.
Not to mention that there isn’t even anything unique worth grinding for. Everyone has same items, crafting is absolute waste of money, dungeons are waste of money and time (I did over 400 Genesis and Lazarus, I even almost got trinkets maxed out).
You could say that I’ve played a lot but anyone playing will come to this phase where there’s just nothing to do. That’s why all servers in EU pretty much died. You only need to log for one siege per week (if it happens at all because even pushing most boring quests ever requires too much time).
This game is on brink of dying and idk what’s gonna save it.
