What is your character name in New World: II-Melisandre-II
What server/world did you experience your issue on: Ohonoo
Describe the issue you are experiencing: Upon logging into New World, I noticed visually that the Firevine Battlestff (which is looted from Garden of Genesis) icon was changed to (again) the same exact skin as the Twitch Drop “Raven’s Revenge”. Furthermore, when applying the store skin “Fire and Brimstone”, the Firevine Battlestaff’s “new look” blacks out and/or conceals the “Fire and Brimstone” visuals that is depicted in the shop. The Fireball on top of the “Fire and Brimstone” skin is “black”, it looks more like a dwarf star and there’s no burning fire or burning fire animation on the staff itself when it is sheathed behind your back. I have tried to use other combinations to see if this would fix the issue, the visual of Fire and Brimstone store skin is specifically clashing with the updated look to the Firevine Battlestaff.

NOTE: As you can see in the screenshots, the Fire and Brimstone skin is clearly not what it’s depicted when equipped. This was not the case BEFORE the patch, this became a visual issue AFTER the patch.
NOTE: New Firevine Battlestaff icon is the SAME EXACT skin as the Twitch Drop “Raven’s Revenge”.
Same… I noticed as soon as the patch came in. But I waited a little to see if they hotfixed it… But apparently its still on… I hate this new look so much. It’s like they messed up the old skins so that one would not like them anymore and buy the new skins… marketing at his best :l
Agree, these cosmetics in the shop should be a priority for the player base since these are “monetary” items being bought with real money. Players are paying for these in some form or another and the right thing to do is to ensure the customer that’s providing funds to the marketing avenues outside New World be given “as seen” in the shop. I understand, things happen like this, but, the right thing to do it still resolve this and many types of on going issues in New World with cosmetics.
With that being said, this should go for the whole transmog issue for the game as a whole since player did purchase New World to play the game. There’s a abundance of items within the game that do not look like what’s its supposed to look like on the character when equipped. Before there’s even a thought about enabling a “transmog system” within New World, it needs to go through a vigorous QA to ensure if you equip item X, it looks exactly like what the piece looks like on the character. That’s the only way the transmog system will work in New World. Like WoW, they have a excellent transmog system, but, very small % is cash shop items that really don’t make up the monetary gains whereas in New World since there’s no subscription, the publisher and developer avenues rely on New World game purchases and shop items mainly for their revenue.
