Don’t forget to check the Known Issues List to see if your issue is currently being worked on by the dev team.
We also have existing workaround for some issues that you can find here:

  • What is your character name in New World: Mad Marrtigan
  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: Heliopolis
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Cannot complete the quest Hold Back The Night for the 580 Void Gauntlet quest. I crafted the Resin-Hardened Leather before crafting the 4 Rugged Leather, and the quest would not recognize that the item was in my bags. I reset both quests Hold Back The Night and Grasping Shadows, and now cannot progress the quest at all.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Unable to complete the quest for the 580 Void Gauntlet
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: No
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: I do not have either as I am currently redownloading the game, in hopes that it will help.
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Craft the Resin-Hardened Leather before crafting the rugged leather and it will bug out the quest.

Same issue. Quality programming cant even accommodate for people already having common materials. If users could do the simple things, like delete quest items out of their bags or drop quests, perhaps we could self mitigate instead of waiting for 3 months for a fix.

just replying to keep the post alive, as the same thing happened to me.
haven’t seen any dev/mod comments on any reports regarding this issue so far…

Bumping this thread as both “Secrets best left unshared” and the 580 VG quest both are currently bug, which both should be unlocked at this stage.

I am also having this same exact issue. I assumed the Dec patch would’ve fixed it.
