Things that break up the monotony are good, things to look forward to between grinding and farming
Maybe replace Invasion mode with rabbits for a fun change of pace. The ones who do war/invasions regularly have it down to technicals and it would be good to change it up every now and then. Not just spring, maybe every seasonal event comes with swapped mobs? I’m not saying put the corrupted in floaties and bikinis for summer… but… An ogre in a two piece wouldn’t be expected.
My advice would be to look at things like Blizzards Zombie Apocalypse event for the launch of …was it Wrath or Burning? Anywho they had the Plague as a debuff you could spread through contact/combat which would transform you into a Zombie/Ghoul who could then INFECT any other character player or non player - making them turn into zombies too!
It was incredibly disruptive but I guaran-fucking-TEE it was the single most enjoyable, highest % participation event this side of the world for an online game.
It was fun as hell. Unique as all get out- and probably only took, “zombies?” being said in the right meeting to happen.
Disruptive, even if causing player deaths is perfectly cool with most of us! Especially when its a LIMITED TIME event- at which point be as disruptive of the norm as you want! Its limited by time!
These are just big dirty rabbits. We should have gotten RABBITS OF CARBAENNOG via Monty Python and the holy grail.
Alternatively go Bugs Bunny with it-
tl;dr When you read about “Limited Events” in manga, anime, movies, books and television shows is it ever just, “Oh yeah you go click something a few times and you get some items.”
Orrrrr is it some kind of kookie treasure hunt complete with clues and out of the norm mechanics like High Level mobs popping up in LOW level areas! SHAKE IT UP!

If devs take nothing away from this event take this: GO BIG, HAVE FUN planning things for New World. You’ll likely get better results not worrying about pissing everyone off(some are gonna be pissed off no matter what, we walk around in pee-pants.)

I had this in mind when I read that;

You couldve had a massive corrupted bunny in a secret save.
Or maybe… 1/100 chance to spawn a rabbit portal where you have to have 5 people present to enter.
Then you go into a massive corrupted zone with level 66 corrupted rabbit doing what man above said, Wolf Leap like an undead crawler.
You could have expertise bumps and tier 5 gear across the board like a mini dungeon, but for free, just kill x amount of rabbit and it has random chance to spawn.
Maybe 5 mini boss bunnies that give 200 gold or something.
Better yet! Have it be random! When random chance to spawn portal happens, you get mauled by 10 bunnies that come out of the ground and they drag you into the ground and you land in corrupted bunny land, then you invite people to group and go up to a foggy door like expeditions and group presses f1 to enter.
I am OK with this event. Clearly a low key event (compared to the Turkey or Winter event), but it allow everyone to participate.
Less fun or interesting for high levels, but low levels can still join in. And as there seems to be a bit of a bump in players from the free weekend, this is where AGS is targeting the event.
New World should have a Holiday Kaiju for every holiday.
Turkeylon for Thanksgiving.
Krampus for Christmas
Jack the Rabbit Lord, who is a world boss summoning hordes of killer rabbits.
Headless Horseman for Halloween
That kind of thing.
Big, giant world bosses. Kaiju.
Summertime event could be dual bosses, a Godzilla and a Kong clone.
The problem with the Turkey and any similar raid boss is that during the turkey event I had a group of 5 people and we had the timer for every zone.
We would farm that turkey for like 16 hours and get 9/10 of every spawn. It was not really fair.
turkey event was not exciting. youd either spend all day running around waiting for the spawn. or wait for someone to announce it. then spend like 500 azoth just to get there, take 20 minutes to kill, and then not get a loot drop.

I too, was looking for something more along those lines, especially after thanksgiving, when my hapless character rounded the corner of one of the many pointy towers, and there, suddenly, was a multi-story Turkey!!!
I’ll never forget that scene, “What, behind the Rabbit?” “No, it is the rabbit!”
Here is the reference, for those poor, besotted and lowly folks, that have never experienced Monty Python.
I remember playing Diablo with a friend, and we were so underpowered, we needed to stage our battles by righting in doorways, where the first monster to reach us would stop in the doorway, blocking all the others from reaching us, so my friend and I could get a series of 2 vs 1 battles, rather than 30+ vs 2.
I scouted out a huge horde, and because I am a naturally greedy fellow when performing a draw, I had to get every last monster to chase me that I could.
Long story short, I bit off a bit more than we could chew, and fortunately, I had set up my hotkeys with a bit of text, designed for just such and EMERGENCY, so while I was frantically dodging massed arrows, and running for my life, I spammed my preset key, and so filled the screen with:
Run Away…!!! Run Away…!!! Run Away…!!!
And matching actions to words, I ran right through the door and kept on heeling and toeing it. I ran to the far side of the dungeon, and waited for my friend to join me, and after several seconds that seemed like hours, I read the message, “Dorbin was slain by the Skeleton King”.
The whole time, I kept trying to get ahold of him (back in those days, no voice contact, just text), and after he died, it was still some time later that I heard from him.
I asked him what happened, did he lagg, or was he AFK, or what…???
His first words were, did you ever see Monty Python?
And then I knew, it was me that killed him, with laughter.
Of course, he had to share the story from his characters perspective…
but that is for someplace else, I think.

Maybe they should event bosses apearing daily ? On constant hours something similiar to Lost Ark events? ( Lost Ark as example but those events are in every MMO). Small event mobs like this is ok but also add Something what is a challenge, hard.
100% agree with the OP. Turkelydon had the server working together and was super funny. Winter Event gave us much more useful consumables plus a market of RP gear and such with the super cool meteorite event that would have people running from all over.
The rabbits are making people getting in each other’s way trying to snipe rabbits first and then getting frustrated at the low, low drop rate, because with the way luck works (or rather doesn’t) the only other prize seems lackluster.
