Calamity Counter and Guarded Shift

howdy folks,

mayhaps someone can help me with this, as i haven’t a clue about how to actually test it. my conundrum lies with the Calamity Counter ability (GS) and Guarded Shift passive. the Calamity Counter description says (amongst other things) -

Block for 2s while reducing block stamina damage taken by 90%, then unleash a counterattack that strikes all foes within a 4m radius.

and the Guarded Shift passive says -

Blocking for 2.0s causes you to enter defiant stance.

so does this mean that those 2 seconds of blocking in Calamity Counter activate the Defiant Stance if you have the Guarded Shift passive? as the Defiant Stance is normally activated after using any ability in the Defiance tree (as per the description - “After using any ability in the Defiance tree, enter defiant stance for 10s.)…

i am asking because of the Critical Calamity passive (it heals you in Defiant Stance). again, i have no idea how to test this, i am new to the game and still learning everything…

any and all info will be much appreciated…

it actiaves def stance not matter what since u automaticly be in def stance after using any def tree skills.

You’ve missed the point of what he’s asking.

The critical calamity passive causes the damage from the 2nd part of the skill to heal you if you are already in defence stance when it hits.

He’s asking if the 2 sec block from the skill will put you into defence stance before the damage happens, causing it to heal you.

OP, your buffs and their durations show up in the lower center screen. There is a buff icon that shows up for def stance. When you use the skill you can watch to see when the buff appears: after the blocking component or not until the full skill finishes. You can also let a mob hit you a few times then use the skill without def stance already up and just see if it heals you or not.
