not if you are inside the circle to cap no. I agree with you the opr map is awfull. 2 big wide open areas which is perfect for musket trolls to be annoying. We need a new opr map yesterday.
But the musket itself also needs work. Make it a projectile. It makes no sense for it to be a hitscan at all
Idk man. War is just a mess of a soup anyway. I stopped playing war a long time ago. 50v50 is boring as hell. New world shines in smaller scale fights. The big zerg v zerg shit is dogwater. And the game deffinitely shouldnt balance the weapons solely based on war. War should be balanced by the war mechanics and utiity like the war consumables and the siege weapons etc.

theres a reason why they call it call of duty new world now. too many muskets. if they werent a hitscan they wouldnt be so annoying. But they can just sit there on a rock 100m away and deal dmg. One musket isnt a big problem. 5+ muskets ? Big problem that ruins fun. And that believe it or not. is the most important part of the game. Fun! Because if the players arent having fun playing the game they will eventually go play a game that IS fun instead. Weird how that works innit?

I understand what you’re trying to do. But you are compartmentalizing a legitemate issue which a very large number of people do get annoyed by on a daily basis. Muskets being muskets while not particularily OP. Because of how they work and how they interact with the flow of pvp combat is a real thorn in the side when it comes to the enjoyabily of pvp.
You can try to belittle that complaint as much as you want but you are just being childish for no good reason

Musket I believe was a projectile for a long time but it was a huge hit on server performance in large scale battles as the sever had to compute the trajectory of tons of projectiles over a longer distance than the bow could achieve. I forget if this was changed in beta or between beta and launch.
Didn’t musket damage get nerfed or something? Literally have not felt an annoyance from muskets in months…
idk why it doesn’t happen anymore but I remember last year all of the muskets would perch high up and shoot into moon and star but they don’t anymore. Since they stopped doing that I don’t even notice them.
People play musket specifically to be annoying and to ruin good pvp fights for other people.
People use musket because its fun. Its a good weapon (and IRL too) and no one gives a hood about “how you MUST play just not to offend some kid”.
Seems like “good pvp fight” is - 1vs1, only melee, without running and dodge? hah. Other than that is “ruining stuff”.
