Can humanoid enemies be made to strafe around?

Because as is, they just go forward. It’s fine in open spaces. Empty spaces. It’s not that fine in confined spaces and cluttered spaces, because they can push you, or you can even eff up a roll/dodge… and end up just stuck in a corner. Stuck in clutter. Body blocked by an enemy. Unable to move with your only survival being to kill them if you don’t have a knockback. Because they simply wont move. They will stay still, staring into you.

Surviving these encounters does not make them any less annoying. I’m not saying they should be dodging around and running. But can they just… walk left to right? Backup a little bit? Anything small? Not just sitting still and moving in one single direction?
