Can PvP kills be kills, please?

At the end of an OPR (or a war), I would like to be able to switch over to the “Rankings” tab, and be able to sort the number of knockdowns (i.e., real kills) instead of sorting the number of downed bodies plinked by life staffs and ice storms. Also add healing done, damage done, and points captured tabs to the rankings table.

Despite the current PTR scoring changes, I still think this is a big source of aggravation for many people.

Agreed.

Stopped counting how often my arrows fly through people I just downed and get stolen by IG/FS/melee/VG and so on. Also weird feeling to hyperfocus downed skull icons out of spite since my downed onces get yoinked. People just yoink what they can since finishing off downed bodies is sadly what defines a “kill” in this game and it shouldn’t be like that.

Getting points per tick for capturing a point still should be a thing, rewarding tanks actually pushing into points and holding them. The damage counting more into the point rewards is a great move, just hope it doesn’t devalue heal entirely and tanks even more than it already does.

Other than that I’m really looking forward to the new OPR, even if it feels like it’s gonna come around in March at the earliest. Bringing incentives into the one small scale PvP mode we have in this game was crucial and will (hopefully) bring a lot of people back.

I agree, it’s quite frustrating putting the effort in and downing someone only to be rewarded with nothing. One of the developers responded to one of my posts on this topic a couple weeks back and said they’re aware of the situation but they’re awaiting more player feedback before making a change. I believe they lowered the score you recieve from kills to make them less impactful to prevent this but I’m not sure if they realize how unenjoyable it is finishing an OPR with 8 kills and 42 player takedowns lol. @Chardis

Downing or killing it’s not a big difference - both could be granted to random people and not the one that made most of the damage.

That’s simply not true. The odds of the kill going to the correct player for actually finishing off a player still in control of their character, with at least some of their health remaining, are obviously far higher than for plinking one sitting immobile on the ground.

Additionally, the former option mostly encourages good play (assisting people to down enemies as fast as possible), while the latter encourages bad play (wasting time attacking people who are already essentially dead instead of moving on to different, living targets).

I would be completely fine if they made it based on most damage in the last 5 seconds before death as well. But I have to disagree on your point, some classes are just better setup to hit downed targets because it’s not like you actually need to do damage. That’s why you often see healers with 20 killing blows because their rate of fire is so high.

It would be fine if they just didn’t count downed ennemies. It’s a team effort, whatever if i get kill or not, my goal is to win the shit

I have to disagree. Yes it’s a team effort but it’s nice to see what you attributed to the team. It’s also nice to have a benchmark to see your improvement at the game.

Well how do you valuate how i contributed to the win as a tank ? I might have done shit tons of work on point. I might have missed every single spells. Anyway my damage are shit, anyway i don’t down anyone, anyway i didn’t heal anyone.

The focus should be objectives.

And with how to count kills, i get your point, knowing how manynyou killed or at least help kills is rewarding. But we should only count assist. Totally disable thenposs8bility to get revived. You die you die. And don’t count the last hit. Otherwise you would have the same issue : “i did 98% of the damage but XXXX stole my kill with musket”

Maybe you are right in a group fight. But it’s still very situational: e.q. when you fight somebody to 10% HP and in the end 2 guys come to “help” you finish him, you get somewhat 30% chance for down him and 30% chance for kill kim. Either way I have a feeling that area damage spammers wins most of the time.

I’m going to be kind of harsh here, but tanks are basically worthless in OPR. There’s no need to have someone sitting on a point in OPR, because the fight in a fort is going to go until one side is completely dead, and only then is the point is going to be captured. So if you’re just standing around with your shield out while the fight is going on, doing little to actually wipe the other team, you’re basically a waste of space.

Mate you are clearly making sense and they wont understand you :smiley: because i have been saying this for 3 months in this forum . But no action has been taken :D. all musketeers waiting for enemies to knock down to get easy points and great axe wont even hit for 4 seconds after enemies knock down you need to be precise to get the kill in one opr at least 10 of my kills usually get stolen

I do agree there should be points for sitting on an objective, like you receive points for sitting on a point while killing enemies and such but removing kills from the game is a bad move. The issue with kill stealing in that sense is not nearly as bad because it would be just like any other MMO or FPS out there.

PUBG solved this years ago. Just keep the downed state and gives the kill to the person who downed you, and an assist to the guy who finished.

Should have been changed 3 months ago. I mean, sure, go ahead and change it now, but it won’t matter much. Game is beyond repair.

Ikr. I don’t bother with OPR anymore. Unplayable for tanks. I need tonrespec to some dps build evrytime i want to play in OPR, i can’t play it as a filler activity so it’s annoying. Like could spend 800 gold per day to respec dps build, then tank to go dungeon, then dps build again, then tank etc etc. But i won’t do that because i nned my mobey on something else .

I did play ga/wh dps build. But with GA nerfed to the ground i don’t see any value/fun playing that
