Knock downs - unaffected by freedom - no counterplay.
Stuns - affected by freedom - no counterplay.
Stagger - unaffected by freedom - no counterplay
Roots - affected by freedom - can block, dash, use defensive abilities - and now can i-frame during it’s duration.
Yes, some specific abilities that caused roots were and still are OP. Are those abilities really so difficult to balance that it requires months of complaining and then a lazy band-aid fix nerf to every CC of that type?
Because This is the type of nerf people wanted. What? You wanted counter play? Prepared to get ignored by idiots who want the wrong type of nerfs.
I’ve said it hundred of times. “Add cc break in the game, add more debuff purging options. Add cc immunity to counter cc chains.”
People in this forum don’t even acknowledge the phase “Cc break.” Or “Cc immunity.” This is what we needed. Not whatever AGS Decided to do. Sadly most folks here are incapable of thinking beyond “Nerf the cc by reducing the duration”
Sometimes, Adding counterplay is the best type of nerfs. Crazy, concept for a lot of people who don’t understand how their idea of nerfing do more harm than good, but here we are.
@Gamercape It’s almost like these people have never fully played another MMO before.
They could’ve asked for every weapon to get a CC break ability.
They could’ve asked for a small CC invunl timer after being CCed.
They could’ve asked for CC reduction. So people can’t perma CC you mindlessly.
But nope they didn’t. I’m pretty sure the people who currently still plays New World. Don’t want balance or counterplay. They just want their playstyles to be king of the hill. And that is the problem catering to these types of players. Because rarely anybody else would to PvP in a game like that.
Hey at the very least you can dodge while rooted now…
Even though this change is pointlessy stupid because the complaint was “I can’t get out of harms way while I’m being comboed by greataxe grav well/Spin to win combo.”
I want to get out of roots. Break free. Being able to dodge while rooted doesn’t do anything for me if I’m still stuck in place, especially in a game like this where standing still is a death sentence.
Yeah i dont get this iframe during root, why its allowed. Whats the point of the root if he can dodge 4 times and take no damage in few second root. He should be punished if he steps into god damn musket root.
The stupidest combat thing ever. Completely beats the purpose of rooting.
Sounds like some Lead Dev just succumbed to the constant crying on the Forums and yelled: “AHHH! I can’t take it anymore! Just make the roots useless! Let them use iframes or whatever!”
@Fearless As you can see, You’re the only person beside 1 more that actually acknowledge the fact that Cc breaking exist in this thread. Not even Op Acknowledged cc breaking.
Said it since cc was becoming a problem, they need to add counterplay for cc, or we’re going to see a endless loop of people complaining, and now more than ever, We need some form of cc break or something, and yet people in this forum can’t grasp it. It’s killing me here.
Um, the millions of PvPers no longer playing New World because there is no counterplay. Meaning New World has little if any expression of skill. Meaning the vast majority of PvP gamers are just going to skip New World. Meaning that New World’s PvP scene will always be barren. Meaning even with your new Arenas, the lack of PvPers, will make them suck hard. Because most if not all matches will be landslides. Meaning whatever number of players came back to try new arenas. Will be out the door within a few weeks, if that. That’s who cares.
Now if you are sadist or masochist. New World’s PvP is the place to go. All others need not apply!
You should have expend a skill to get out of a root so you need to choose to have a cc breaking skill over other choices, or dont, a play high risk/reward
Yes this. I still died yesterday to grav wells and such. One iframe doesn’t do shit when I’m in cloth armor and as soon as that tiny dodge is done I’m still getting hit for absolutely massive amounts of HP (which is another issue - TTK in other games isn’t this small. We need more HP/defense for everyone, or damage needs to be toned down so people aren’t dying in a couple of hits).
I think you misunderstand the purpose of this post. Are we not in agreement that CC balancing is being handled horribly by AGS? Just because I am pointing out the problem and have not acknowledged 1 of many solutions to this problem, does not mean that I have somehow let millions of PVPers down lol.
If you want to believe that you are somehow entitled to tell other people whether or not they should/can enjoy new PVP content then you’re the problem, not me.
