Can someone explain why Movement Bug isnt TOP Thread

I mean anyone who plays PvP in New World regularly (which it was designed for) has experienced this bug and yet I never see anyone complain about it on the forums. Im beginning to think most people here dont really play that much because it greatly affects every war and it sounded like the last patch might have fixed one of the movement bugs, but it did not fix the bug where you run in place and have to log all the way out in order to fix it so if you are in war there is a good chance you will be kicked if you want to be able to move- some consider this a valuable part of any heroes toolkit.

All I see is complaint threads about how getting 60 wasnt fulfilling or people were being toxic or why’d you nerf my particular weapon that was OP instead of hey this could benefit all players that engage in the game regularly — and has gone on for waaaay too long

The devs are aware of the movement bug, but seeing as the bug is triggered in a very specific scenario…anyone who understands software development or scripting can tell you it isnt an easy fix. Debugging can be a fairly lengthy process when multiple factors are held accountable.

I’ve done a fair share of javascript and c++ and I can tell you right now what looks small to you is by no means small in code. We’re talking hundreds if not a thousand lines of code that has to be swept through and then implementing a fix that doesnt cause more errors or bugs. Its extremely common that an entire portion of code has to be rewritten in order to resolve a small bug. We already know the dev team isnt of a large scale so these things will obviously take more time than compared to a mega company.

last niggth i played 3 opr, and in all 3 of those i have been rooted to death and respawn being unable to move. But as we learn the way Ags is dealing with things is fix it, later.

so im’assuming at the end of may.

pvp just isn’t that important.

Literally never implied it would be easy or is small… Forums are one of the main ways dev’s can find out what the main concerns are of the playerbase and seeing a lack of posts about an issue that is as common is also that damaging to the moments of the most important gameplay for threads pretty much lacking in either importance or substance is I dunno alarming maybe hyperbolizing a bit but basically my post was saying I wanna see this talked about until they find a fix… not about whether or not it would be easy.

You also are talking about a full fix- preventing this bug maybe really hard. The fact that it can’t be fixed without leaving the game entirely might be a simpler issue (maybe) or even one more worth working on first as it could solve other problems in the game. It is pretty clear that the animation for running is broken, if you pull out a tent in opr you can walk around at the normal speed of placing a tent. It also doesnt only happen in PvP I’ve had it happen on the last boss of Genesis. A suggestion for a quick fix, which may not be as satisfying from a programmers perspective, like having death fully reset a hero in the way the game does after your body has been kicked, then re-apply their lasting buffs might be a way for a quick fix… if not it might illuminate why certain bugs persist through death and others dont… Like some bugs that seem kind of similar, that bug where your hero starts doing a skill but the animation is broken so it keeps just doing the start of it tends to work itself out.

I know there are a ton of bugs to work on, I mean if that isnt apparent every time you come back from an OPR and cant talk in many of the different text channels or every time you open your inventory it shows the wrong icon well it should be… we’ve come to accept them as realities of the game but they tend not to have as large of an effort on the key moments of the game as the movement bug does.

dad joke time-

When does a joke become a dad joke?

When it becomes apparent

This makes no sense, and your post is all over the place. I was only talking about the movement bug and nothing else. What would be your definition of a simpler fix for the movement bug? There isnt a type of fix in the programming world that’s just “simple”, it requires extensive debugging and testing. Lets not forget I mentioned how small I believe the actual dev team for AGS is that we also need to consider.
