For sure. I think the main issue, and I think the communication managers confirmed this somewhere, is that there is a lack of transparency between the devs and the CMs so the information they’re working with when communicating to the community is more limited than we assume, which I hope is something they figure out.

HAHA If the Community Managers were doing their job they would have banned the most toxic people long ago. Just go in any of the PvP threads, any of them. The only thing they seem to care about is “naughty curse-words” and not context.

Or… could they be communicating the reality that they would have more insight to? Impartial doesn’t mean neutral, it means being fair and honest. If the reality on the development side is that point A makes sense and point B doesn’t, is it impartial to not communicate that?

Now I don’t know the specific instance that you’re referring to, but that’s a bit of my preemptive argument just based on what I could gather from your post.

He’s always been the most out of touch person at AGS for years now. He thinks he knows better then the players. Saying we want diffrent road maps for pvp servers? (LOL what?) He’s always been a very dismissive person and his shit posting last night here proved it. That isn’t what we meant when we said we wanted more communication.

He said that because, in most MMOs - primarily PvP players enjoy and prefer PvP-specific content, gear, and other performance-specific content. Take the gladiator gear set and related quests/achievements from WoW.

Hardcore PvP’ers - historically speaking - prefer when PvP-specific game content is tailored to their liking. Forking the playerbase between PvP and PvE or PvPvX is a thing, and other MMO player populations have demonstrated this at a statistical level.

So you actually know everyone at AGS to make the presumptive statement that out of EVERYONE that works there…hes the most out of touch?

:joy: :joy:

Gee whiz if every gamer had your brilliant intuition we wouldn’t even need developers!! :joy: :joy:

You have no idea what you’re talking about. And yes out of all the AGS team I’ve ever seen talk on here that has been my observations. You can’t tell me my opinion is wrong. Yet I can tell you to provide some evidence of your stupid claims about pvpers.

P.S. using italic text doesn’t make you smart.

“Tell us what’s going on!”

“No, don’t tell us like THAT!”

You asked for an answer, you didn’t get the one you wanted, that’s a you problem.

Any job where you interact with the general public can be tough. Particularly when you are in a position where you take complaints regardless of whether or not you can fix anything. Some people are just passionate because they care but others are just nasty because they can be and it can be hard to deal with those types while maintaining a professional outlook.

He answered with a lie to dismiss everyone’s concerns. not one person said they wanted a pvp road map or diffrent content patches unique to pvp servers, just simply an always flagged server. Stop talking about stuff you have no clue about please.

What? They haven’t said shit, how’s it any better than not saying anything? All I’ve seen so far is just unprofessional CMs

He didn’t say that they wanted a PvP roadmap, he said that if they create PvP servers that players there will want it in the future. Now, there’s an argument that that isn’t correct, who can accurately predict the future, right?

But it isn’t difficult to understand the thought process there. Their server focuses on PvP primarily, they’ll likely need adjusted gameplay loops, and at some point updates might not click well with total open world PvP on PvP servers, causing discontent and a desire for further divergance from the base branch of the game.

But maybe that won’t happen, or there’s an inherent flaw in that logic. Who knows, butterfly effects can be a bit unpredictable. But still, if you’re going to criticize em, do it with the right facts. He wasn’t claiming what people wanted right now, he was claiming what people would want later.

“Using italic text doesn’t make you smart.” Well sure, but neither does announcing your subjective opinion as fact based on every single AGS employee that you apparently “know.”…

It’s his job. There’s nothing more to say than that.

I’m always nice to community managers when they appear.
It pays off.

They gave me a mount - I’ll be riding my Everfall Steed through town later today.

isn’t that his job? xD or his task here, whatever you wanna call it, praise me for going to work every day (jk I leech from society)

Engaging your rabid community on discussion forums is one of the classic blunders. Along with never start a land war in Asia and never mess with a Sicilian when death is on the line.
