this is just ridiculous i have to compete with 5 bots farming non stop 24/7 in weavers fen for oil. like idk i reported them maybe 1000 times and they’re still roaming around, do i have to believe these bots are from the game to gatekeep us? Can you please review the bot reports on Hellheim server? PLEASE!
This in fact might be the problem, because to many people are not sending one report but X reports. (I know your figure is not literally 1000 tickets)
Now let’s assume there are 100 users on your server reporting the bot, each only 10 times. This means you got 1000 tickets to check in the queue. In addition there might be other tickets due to other various reasons by another 100 users.
We all don’t know how many people are assigned to the support of each server, but just from these fictional numbers, you could see, that it is a whole lot of work.
Depending on the ticket, the case might need to be checked further into detail and it might take a while. If we just assume each ticket takes 10min (just for easier calculations), we come to 1000 x 10 = 10.000min which might lead to the fact that it might take 2 or 3 days until your ticket gets addressed.
Conclusion:
If you see a bot, report it and move on, don’t create “ticket spam”.
Or just run the same route as the bot, just “counter” him. Running in the opposite direction of the bot can help. On my server there is also a bot outside Windsward (level from 28 to 31 this week, haven’t checked today). You can easily break his routine and he gets nothing for 30min or so. Just get to the hemp before it and the respawn counter for the script don’t match anymore. It is only a small victory for a short time, but it is.
From what I’ve read the only thing to maybe get a quicker ban, might be a mass report. Now I also think name calling in general is illegal, but I think you can ask your friends/company for additional reports. Because in that case, the user name gets somewhat of a higher priority flag and the case might get handled quicker.
[note that these are only assumptions, based on people complaining over immediate bans after mass reports]
i see what you’re saying, this is indeed a lot of reports to go through. However i assumed special automated bans were in play for things like “bot behavior and coin selling” this would seem like the logical thing to do.
in the end i guess i can’t do anymore bc im not gonna try to counter the same bots as this is just a waste of my time. and like i said this is not just 1 bot, its like 5 bots going around at random intervals farming the same thing (oil, motes etc.)
so i guess i’ll just… not gather there anymore… Feelsbadman
Automated bands are not that easy or in fact pretty dangerous.
Take my example from above:
I was also running almost the same route like the bot, gathering like 2000 fibers, returning to town, start over again after 5-10min. I assume this is almost the same thing that you are doing when farming oil.
You could only see, that I was a real player because:
I turned around if a saw a resource spawning behind/next to me, where bots just try to gather something and move on
I was killing a wolve here and there
or sometimes I left the route to quickly harvest something else…
But if you would’ve just looked at me for 2min or so, you could’ve assumed I was a bot too and reported me.
And once you are banned, try to get unbanned. No matter what AGS does, if they automatically ban every bot report (or let’s say every player gets banned after 10 bot reports), this would lead to an outcry of people being banned for the wrong reasons.
Therefore I believe it is better this way.
