Can you play the greatsword with the bow?

For anyone else curious, I attempt to answer that question here:

What do you guys think of this pairing? Could it replace rapier or spear?

But it was also interesting to listen to your considerations about pairing with bow. Nevertheless I donā€™t think that it will replace rapier, as it still will be used due to itā€™s mobility

Yeah Iā€™m not sure whether it will replace either, but it may have enough tools to be somewhere in between rapier and spear. Particularly spear it can be enough to just pressure your opponent back with spear.

This is the build that I am currently working on and I think it will be one of the most used builds for the greatsword.

Surprisingly there arent all that many weapons that pair well with the greatsword. Bow is an interesting one for sure

I think it will play similar to spear with the bow to be honest and the damage is there. Iā€™m looking forward to a level 60 template though for sure.

I love this weapon though, it seems you have enjoyed it too?

yeah I think you are right. The absolute burst potential of the greatsword is insane. I am also going to have to see what it can do at lvl 60 tho. I think steadfast strike is a must have ability though, I just cant let go of it.

The greatsword is amazing, I am pretty much certain it will become my new main weapon after release.

Totally agree with this, steadfast wonā€™t be leaving my bar either.
I think relentless rush too is bis, especially with the perk. Itā€™s a great escape tool and cc.

I just like the way skyward slash feels, but may swap it out.

I really want to use crosscut, but I donā€™t think itā€™s doable on a squishy. The damage and the heal from the perk though :scream:

I found the other 2 defiant skills a little too stationary for a light armor build, but definitely havenā€™t closed the door on them.

Have you tried it mate? This is another PTR cycle where itā€™s hard to go back to live :face_with_peeking_eye:

Probably best to wait for the Devs to add a level 60 template to the PTR anyway :+1:
