Canceled login queue by using gamepad?

So I’m stuck waiting for hours being unable to use a gamepad to play something else? Please have an option to disable gamepad/controller. I was under the impression New World wouldn’t support them anyway but it seems it takes inputs that aren’t even bind-able.

So for those who are having this issue i found the solution.

  • Right click NW from Steam → Properties → Controller → Choose “Enable Steam Input” → Ok
  • Launch NW from Steam
  • Press “Shift + Tab” to enter steam overlay
  • Choose “Controller Configuration”
  • In there, make sure you bind the perpetrating button (in my case Main Menu button) to None so it does nothing.
  • Save then restart your NW

Now you can queue NW while playing with gamepad on other game.

The easiest method is to Shift+Tab on New World before you tab out. Having the Steam overlay on will prevent the gamepad inputs from cancelling the queue.

ps3 and ps4 controller are partially support by New World in addition to steam. Even with the controllers disabled on steam, the ps3/ps4 controllers are partially enabled on new world and it is impossible to remove it or bind the keys. I tested your method and steam tells me that there is no controller activated, yet some keys are active in game…
