What server/world did you experience your issue on: Castle of Steel, us-east
Describe the issue you are experiencing: I cannot add friends anymore (I get the error “You can only have 100 friends”). However, I don’t have 100 friends (I have ~30). I also tried to remove some, and I still get this error.

I have noticed this same issue and actually just posted a bug report about it as well. Any chance you transferred servers recently? I think that is what is causing the problem for me.
I don’t have many people blocked either (only 2 people actually), so I don’t think that is the main cause.
I think this has more to do with the fact that your friends list gets cleared when you transfer, but I think there is a friends counter that is not getting reset.
This could be it but I noticed some other weird stuff relating to this after my most recent transfer. I transferred and then the next day some of my other friends transferred to the same server as me and they appeared on my friends list right away. I didn’t even have to add them again. So I don’t think the friends list is fully being cleared on a transfer at all.
This is an ongoing issue that has been happening for months and, AGS has refused to address it. Same as NOT being able to remove friends. Sadly, the issues have been ignored.
This issue has been ongoing since at least 1 month for me. I cannot add friends to my friends list, which make finding people to group with kinda hard sometimes.
Any news that you could share? Is this issue tracked and is there a fix planned?
@Willard I believe I can add some helpful information to this issue.
The problem seems to be that when you (or someone you’re friends with) transfers or gets merged (effectively: you’re both no longer on the same server), they no longer appear on your friends list visually, but you’re still friends and they count towards the limit (and because they don’t appear, you can’t clean up your list).
Evidence: If you two ever end up on the same server again, you’ll see them still as your friend without re-adding each other. With the recent round of merges, my friend list exploded with people I haven’t been on the same server with since launch. It’s like they were never removed.
This is probably what’s also happening to the OP, @inalak.
