Cant change resolution, stuck at 1080p on a 4k monitor

UNINITIALIZED - BUG ME error in resolution box. Can’t change resolution, regardless of what I do. I cannot play the game like this.

Sorry for the situation with the resolution, i have some options to try to fix the situation.

You can try to change to Full screen and then change resolutions or you can also use windowed and change to 1440P.

Try to disable Dynamic resolution scaling. Change resolutions between Window mode.

I tried that, and forcing the resolution in steam. Also, I tried running the game with my second monitor physically disconnected, and I still cannot change the resolution of the game. Dynamic resolution is off. Perma stuck in 1080p, it looks like crap in a 4k monitor.

Just tried changing resolution on my second monitor, with the primary one physically disconnected. It didn’t work.

Can you please tell me where the local game configuration, cache files, etc. are located? I want to try deleting those.

Deleting local files located in %APPDATA% \AGS\New World didn’t work also, it resulted in the game not being able to go into full-screen mode anymore. Also tried editing the text file in there with the desired resolution, did nothing.

Found a workaround. Editing the file named “usersettings.jsave” located in %APPDATA% \AGS\New World\savedata

changed these values:

This is an on going bug!

Tried multiple non-working-solutions. Including the user-settings file mod.

I have the same problem, I searched YouTube and every article I could find to try to resolve this issue, but nothing works.

Same situation, dual monitors with one being 2k and the other 1080p. Game was stuck in 1080p, and would only open in the top left corner of my primary monitor if I moved it over. Wouldn’t resize.
