Cant go past first screen continue button

For weeks now, every time I launch the game and the first screen loads, I press continue and nothing happens. Then I have to repeatedly restart my computer and keep loading the game until it works. usually takes 4/5 times before I can get past that screen.

I have reinstalled the game twice and i have verified the files a few times and nothing works.

Its incredibly frustrating that it takes me about 30mins just to log in!!

I am sorry about the issue you are facing while launching the game.

Please try the below steps and check if the issue is resolved.

  1. On your keyboard, press Win+R (the Windows logo key and the R key) to invoke the Run box. Type or paste %appdata% and click OK.
  2. Go to AGS > New World and delete the following:
    The savedata folder
    The user_preload_settings file
  3. Now you can restart New World and see if the game crashes again.

I have gotten stuck on the “continue” button on the start screen before & Ive just restarted the game to get past it. After relaunching the game, the button is fine. I didn’t have to restart my computer… that sounds like overkill tbh.

Followed these steps and it worked the first time but 2nd time logging in I got stuck on the same screen again. Nothing is working!

In this case, i request you to contact us through chat here: New World - Support | Amazon Games so that our Support Staff can look into the issue for you and resolve with instant troubleshooting, also if nothing works they’ll create a ticket for you and forward it our devs to check.

I also request you to share this Forum post to them for their reference along with your game logs.

If asked kindly provide the latest 3 logs from: Users\AppData\Local\AGS\New World\LogBackups

Along with DxDiag report https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/open-and-run-dxdiag-exe-dad7792c-2ad5-f6cd-5a37-bf92228dfd85:

  1. Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag.
  2. Click on dxdiag.exe.
  3. When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.
