My husband cannot launch the game. He has updated steam, uninstalled, reinstalled steam. Uninstalled New World, reinstalled New World to a different game library on a different drive, verified file integrity, turned off anti-virus. It says it’s running but isn’t. He has to ctrl alt del to end it even though it doesn’t show as running on task manager. He’s also checked disk for errors on both drives and repaired his steam library. Steam gave him a bunch of different options which he did them all and nothing helped. Please make this game so it can launch on it’s own without Steam. Steam is a piece of crap. We play this game together and it’s unplayable for him.
ETA: He went into the task manager, clicked on details at the top. Found Easy Anti Cheat and right clicked on it, set priority to high and then it launched.
Im sorry for the issue you currently have. Did you try to do Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files in order to Verify Integrity of Game Files. Then also you can try to look for the game directory, and then select the subfolder “EasyAntiCheat.” Click EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe to run the installer as admin, repair if needed and relaunch the game when complete.
Note: Installation directory for Steam Games will generally be under: C:\Program Files\Steam (x86)\SteamApps\Common
Yes, we’ve tried both. Only setting it to high priority made a difference. But it doesn’t matter until the massive lag following your most recent patch is fixed. He can’t even walk outside of town without lagging and crashing.
