Can't purchase house in Brightwood - Eden

Hi, I have all necessary zone points and coin, but I can’t purchase a house if brightwood:

error 3

I got through everything and it tells me I own a house, no money is taken out of my inventory and I don’t own the house at the end of this. I’ve restarted client/computer multiple times, everything happens over again

is it possible there are limitations to players owning the same type of house in a town? like probably 100 players can own that T1 house or something

Hey @Edyran,

I’m sorry your trying to buy a house and the game is not letting you buy one.

I would suggest you to verify integrity of game files on steam Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files and check once.

Once you do this shut down the game reboot your PC and re login after 30 minutes, check if it made any difference.

Additionally, there is a limitation on number of houses that can be owned by a player. A player can have at maximum of three houses so make sure your do not fall under this.

If the issue still persists reply back to the post along with your character name and server name, so we can further troubleshoot it.

I hope this information helps!

Cheers.

Hello @ARTHROW-677

There is a limitation on number of houses that can be owned by a player. A player can have at maximum three houses.

Here is the link for additional information.

As of we do not have any information on how many player can own a single house.

Usually it should not effect you buying a house in settlement.

I will get back to you on that once I get an update on it.

If you face similar issue where you are unable to buy a house, please try these steps.

Verify integrity of game files

To learn how to verify your game files, go to Steam Support .
If you have already tried these steps and issue still persists. Please let us know we will assist you further.

Restart PC

Once done with abive steps restart your PC and check for any pending windows upadates.
To learn more about how to check for Windows updates, go to Microsoft Support.

Update Steam client

Steam client should automatically update when you re open the app after restarting PC.

Once this is done, restart your computer and relaunch the game.

If you have already tried these steps and issue still persists. Please let us know we will escalate this issue.

Thank you. We appreciate your patience in this matter.

See you in Aeternum.

There is 100% a limit on the number of players that can own a single house. Neither of the suggestions that these admins suggest will work. First off, the logic behind verifying the game files literally makes no sense. After I had tried to purchase a house and I ran into this same issue, every person after me ran into the exact same issue. You literally have to purchase a different house. Since BW only has 1 tier 1 house, you have to purchase a tier 2 house. This works totally fine.

I would love to have compensation for having to go around this bug and being forced to spend an extra 5,000g just to own a house in Brightwood, but knowing AGS, I will not.

In short, you need to purchase a higher tier house because that tier 1 house has a cap on it.

This is a bug with the tier 1 houses… other posts on such.

@Luxendra Please add to know issues list (after confirming they’re aware)… at least haven’t found it listed anywhere. Just CM/CS folks saying they are attempting to escalate.

I did try everything you listed and the error keeps happening

That is an interesting (and likely) theory that there is a limit on the number of people that can own a tier 1 house in a zone… would like to see confirmation from dev team if that’s the case. They definitely need to either remove said limitation or add some in-game notification that unable to purchase due to said limitation (until they remove/increase limit)… instead of giving false message that purchased house.

At least it doesn’t take gold away… just doesn’t purchase the house despite the congratulations message.
