The simple fact that tanks can’t use a weapon unless it has a gem socket is incredibly dumb. I’m not saying that ideally every weapon wouldn’t have a socket anyway, and most likely your BIS is going to have a socket in it but the fact that we have to turn down upgrades because it doesn’t have a socket is just a frustrating and stupid design. It’s really simple to fix this in my mind
- Make Taunts always active. Remove the Carnelian gem req all together
- Increase all threat generated by 100% when using a shield.
- Carnelian gem can still add additional threat, which is a nice bonus if you are having trouble holding agro or you have some really good dpsers but its not absolutely required. It also allows tanks to choose other types of gems and make the playstyle a bit more dynamic.
