Catching up to expertise with other players is demoralizing

I came back from a break for a few weeks and started doing some PvP content and immediately noticed, that i’m massively out-geared. People do thousands of dmg to me, while i do 300 with legendary weapons. I can grind elite chests once a day and gyspum once a day. So if I want to do PvP ether i grind PvE only for weeks or it is impossible to catch up to other players.

Expertise needs to be removed from PvP.

I’m not going trough weeks of loosing every single fight just to scale with the rest and then realize, that they had that time to craft better gear with better perks while I only just got to expertise. This system is complete garbage.

Expertise does not currently scale your weapon stats so the other players just have better gear from playing more.

You can still buy gear now and it won’t be affected when the scaling is introduced. If your expertise is low that is because your HWM was low before expertise was introduced.

Just play and catch up, i find expertise to be a much better system in my opinion.

MMOs are gear based… if you go away in any mmo you will get behind. However, what you are crying about doesn’t exist yet. Expertise only affects your drops, you aren’t scaled down yet. Most likely you forgot how to play, have a bad build, and don’t have any perks on your armor yet.

The real question here is should PvP gear and damage be normalized? Even playing field anyone?

we’re all in full void with legendary weapons. i think now most people are geared higher the pvp is way better.

Expertise has nothing to do with it right now.

Yeah, sorry man, but expertise doesn’t factor into gear at all right now. Buy yourself a good set of 600gs gear from the TP or have someone make you some.

Expertise doesn’t scale yet, and existing gear will be grandfathered in.

But it is going to be an issue for players that arrive after the scaling goes into place.

expertise isnt even scaling yet…its just that ever since timeless shard came in most people are like really max out optimize now…with perks they want and sitting at 600gs. if you are using 600 with out right perks you going to get dominated by people with their perfect crafted gears.

I think OP mistook expertise for gear score damage mitigation changes.

there is something wrong with shield expertise/drop rates
even before patch i hit most weapons 590gs and all armor 590 but after patch i saw that my shield expertise is 510 and since patch its now 520 havent used gypsum on that to test it, i just use gypsum on jewelry.
i do elite chest runs everyday pre patch and post patch
even jewelry had way more bumps from chests then shield
for new players it really sucks tbh they need to do smt with time gating of gypsum cause it will be so hard for new players to catch up
ofc im almost 590 on everything pre patch but if u try to hit expertsie on 5x armor + jewelry and 2x weapon its gonna be months to hit 590 on those

I don’t know how to break this to you, but scaling is implemented, your getting the full benefit of your gear currently. And will continue to do so with any gear aquired before they do patch it in.

So really it may be you who is the weak link. The blame definitely doesn’t fall on gear scaling…

Watermarks and expertise aren’t going to mean much once they up the gearscore to 620 so don’t feel to bad . As soon as that happens you’ll be on a level playing field again

So while I’m busting my ass doing daily chest runs to increase my expertise…you’re taking a break and doing other things… you come back and start crying how you’re out-geared… no that doesn’t work that way…
