Am i the only one bothered by it?
Shockwave on warhammer lasts like 0.5 sec and the ability rarely lands as it is…
Vault kick on Spear lasts like 0.25 sec… like… Why is CC so… Nerfed and bad?..
Literally the (ONLY) useable CC is now shield bash on SNS and thats already impossible to
land on ranged targets…
Can we speed up the animations?
Or increase Stun durration on spells that are supposed to be (Stuns) ?
Or can we just completely remake the CC in the game to be something else that is actually usefull?
Can we re-work hammer to be good? Its not the CC king anymore, SNS is, Its not the highest damage weapon ether/ bow and gs is. Whats the point of warhammer?
Why are people against cc overall? CC in new world is the leaniest form of cc in any video game i have ever played, in wow/league or any other game, if u are stunned and take damage, you are not woken up right away like you are here, so… Why is CC so bad atm?
Why remove staggers from spells?
Actually those are really the only two that took a pretty big hit. Shield bash is fine, all roots are fine, any thing that has a “increase by 1 sec if…” Is pretty much fine. All knockdowns are unaffected, staggers uneffected, slows are still amazing.
Reason might be fact you have build freedom on medium and heavy and u can add 5 more to them with armor pieces. Dunno what is the cap of freedom for seems its not 50%.
Because instead of just making CC have diminishing returns the devs allow the endless stacking of perks. If they would just stop allowing the stacking of perks, this game would be far easier to balance.
Your not the only one that noticed this. I used to play heavy armor and WH for an year and not I’m playing FS and light.
They changed the cc abilities to do cc and no damage, but the funny is that cc last almost nothing and are incredible difficult to land in a world of light armor dodge rolling.
My suggestion to you is to not play cc builds but glass canon builds in light armor.
DO NOT SPEED UP THE ANIMATIONS ON CC. THIS IS BAD FOR THE GAME. All ability animations should be more in line with kick/shockwave/shieldbash(although even shieldbash seems too fast when you are very close to the person)
In an action combat game abilities need to have high impact and weight. If all the animations are instant they have no weight and the combat feels too spammy and you will have alot of “random” deaths that feel out of your control, which feels bad as the player.
Leme guess, you are a bow user or fs user who never wants to take damage or die right?..
You are already ranged/ you need to be able to die by something from melee users aswell.
If you manage to land a CC (witch currently is the hardest thing to do pvp wise) Then it should last long enough for you to ether land a fully charged heavy OR another spell. Period thats whats fair, thats whats balanced.
But when you have Shockwave, a 1.5-2 second casting animation that CCS for less than 1 second, or vault kick that is really janky to use, last for less than 0.5 of a second… Then ether animations need to go up, or stun duration needs to go up.
THIS is not negotiable* Anybody with any logic in their brain would agree right away.
Stuns only have a short duration because of freedom man. Even if they’re in medium or heavy armor you can still do a follow up if they don’t have freedom. So maybe nerfing freedom is the answer instead breaking the game with longer stuns.
I haven’t even tried the WH after the patch cause it broke my heart what they did to it…but as a fellow heavy enjoyer you have my support on this one! We risk ending fighting each other in 1 vs 1 outside WW to feel some thrill, because doing solo OPRs now is absolute madness, arenas not working, and all this ranged AoE damage and red circles…sheesh.
Because CC is being fudged (especially hammer), I went down the path of Enfeebling (spear, GA)…but it doesn’t feel as satisfying as catching someone in a stunlock and ragdolling him around (
