They won’t change this. All the people who paid 300K+ for their Absolute Terror got it absolutely destroyed by the devs changes. This is the same exact situation. These weapons should be received Plagued Crits not Plagued Strikes. I told them to make this change over a month ago in the March PTR forums, but the feedback was ignored.
Don’t even know why they’re changing the VG when the bug described doesn’t even affect it.

Yea, but we already have Firevine Battlestaff(almost the same 3 perks), Taiyings Heart and Absolute Terror(also nerfed with “great” refreshing perk). Why would anyone be excited for more weapons with same perks? Simply feels like another spit in the face of mages by devs…

Unchanged Blackguard’s Fife, Ice and Void are pretty good(Fire and Ice good in smaller scale PvP). And you don’t really need much for PvE in this game(only GS for mutations), it’s just not that difficult…
It’s just so funny to me that great axe or warhammer can have Plagued Strikes and cleave a bunch of people with one heavy hit, but ranged weapon hitting 1 target at a time with heavys? That’s just unheard of!

I think the initial perk that pissed everyone off on these weapons’ is plagued strikes being on a mage weapon because it cant be crafted that way. I can agree “strikes” is op and needs to be fixed. Anything with plagued Crits however should be ok because you can craft weapons of this category with that respective mod. Further more it only activates while a enemy is under 50% health. The Bow can be crafted with both of these mods, so if they aren’t going to change that then this fix is pointless and a slap in the face to the people who farmed tempest for them.
I my myself have run at at least 15 - 20 tempests runs to get the VG and FS. I have also spent over 100 thousand coin making new gear for my VG which is now at 625. I know I cant be the only other player that has invested the past few weeks building around these weapons. If they are changed without proper communication with the community I am quitting New World. As someone with 1600 hrs in this game this is the upcoming “patch” has pissed me off the most. Not a single player in their right mind anywhere on this planet would put refreshing evasion on a weapon. Has to be the dumbest “fix” you devs have come up with and your are about to ruin the player base even more.

How is it OP to heavy hit 1 target at a time with magic weapons? Great axes can do that to multiple targets with cleave xD

Completely agree. Why does Amazon hate mages (and ranged dps in general) so much? The blatant favoritism shown to melee, especially GA users, is a running joke at this point.
I have spent countless hours grinding Tempest to get the Blackguard fire staff. Is this going to apply retroactively or are new weapons that drop just not going to have the perk? Because to change a perk on my weapon AFTER it’s dropped for me feels beyond disappointing, it literally feels like I have been cheated out of something that I have spent so much time and effort earning. This is the sort of thing that has already made many of my friends who played mages quit the game.
What is the rationale for melee being allowed this perk and ranged not being allowed it? GA already badly needed a nerf with the insanely OP grav well and now AGS is gimping ranged YET AGAIN. Why?!
Exactly, and it is much harder to hit with a ranged weapon - we have a tiny hit box whereas GA is practically auto-aim. But God forbid that ranged get anything good in this game.
100% agree. When I get the feeling that I wasted my time in a videogame I instantly stop having fun. And in this case I wasted my time farming Tempest over and over, same with shards I farmed for 625 gs upgrade.

You have already introduced the weapons and many of us have already grinded Tempest and spent the umbral shards upgrading them. To nerf them (but only for ranged) at all at this stage is unacceptable.
If this change goes ahead then that’s it for me, I’m done with the game. As a mage I am absolutely sick of being constantly gimped by the developers while melee, and particularly GA users, are constantly, blatantly and inexplicably favoured.
LOL, yeah right. That’s why all of PvP revolves around grav well and the number of mages allowed in any war on my server is limited to 5 while all the companies are desperately encouraging more bruisers to sign up. That’s why the charm that gives the insatiable grav well perk currently goes for 4.2k each - more than 4x the cost of the most expensive mage weapon perk charm.
Listening to people like this is why your game is dying, devs.
Hitting 1 target with heavy to apply disease once every 2 seconds(if you’re not casting any spells). Sounds insanely overpowered ![]()
