Literally, I am making this post because I kept getting spears with FOCUS/DEX ON IT, WTF literally that’s useless to 99% of Dex players, even for the off-meta healers who run spears they don’t even go 50 dex. What they really need to do is change how attributes work.
For example:
Instead of scaling on one or two stats, make it so all weapons scale with any stat, except con but some, are scaled more than others if they favor those stats, like Hammers with STR.
Also, each point in an attribute increases its bonuses by a small amount, but it becomes A LOT LESS later on but can be balanced by having milestones that give a bigger bonus to favored stat scaling weapons.
Strength: Increase dmg + Increase DMG on Light/Heavy attacks OR +% raw DMG
Dexterity: Increase dmg + Crit Chance OR Armor/Elemental Penatration
Intelligence: Increase dmg + Crit DMG OR Increase DMG on Spells/Skills
Focus: Increase dmg + Reduced Cooldowns OR Increase DMG on Burger without Honey Mustard
Constitution: Increase health + Bonus Physical and Elemental resistance
Get rid of single or dual stat scaling and start making weapons and armors with literal CRINGE split stats VIABLE and USEFUL, with this change it fits the theme of each stat according to what they increase. I took a lot of inspiration from DND and other MMOs with similar scaling and incorporated it into New World.
OBVIOUSLY, this is a random take on how to improve worthless split stats BUT who knows maybe it can help with thousands of items that are completely thrown away because it has the wrong stats. Not to mention it can help build diversity and allow anyone to use any weapon combo without being punished by sacrificing con for DMG or having the con but can’t use two different weapons without consequences.
