Changed factions be accident?

• Describe the issue you are experiencing:
  Started playing with a friend we both choose the purple faction. We collected the faction quests and it sent us south to the area where you would turn in the quest to be the yellow faction. Since it stated a couple times that I cannot change factions for 60 days I clicked the yellow faction quest giver and it changed my faction from Purple to Yellow. I did not know this was possible. When my friend I convinced to buy the game tried it it would not let him change. When i return to the Purple quest (the join quest is still visible) it will not let me change back to Purple.

For context.

Started on the new fresh start server with a IRL friend.
We played until level 27 and decided to go Purple faction.
We completed the quests and then went to the Purple quest giver and accepted and completed the tasks.
We both showed as purple on our screens (we were screen sharing)
Since the other covenants were still showing quests I thought I would see what they had to say since we were questing in the area.
I clicked through and my friend told me I was now Yellow faction.
On my bio it shows I have a 60 day faction change cooldown.
When we looked at his BIO and his faction change button is just greyed out.

So I am playing with a IRL friend and now because of this bug we are on different factions.
I do not have it in me to start again and re-level. I started on this server because I convinced two friends to join the game with me and now I cannot be in the same company or faction with them.

This took all of the wind out of my sails to play this game. Please help me.
