Character rotation disabled after RMB block

  • What server/world did you experience your issue on: EU Central - Abaton
  • Describe the issue you are experiencing: Using the right mouse button (i.e. blocking or aiming) cause character movement to be limited to forward/backward/left/right using key strokes - rotation using the mouse is disabled. Tested using Life Staff, Void Gauntlet and Hatchet, other weapons may also be affected.
  • Is this a bug or an exploit: Bug
  • (if a bug) How did the issue effect your gameplay: Combat performance is severely compromised.
  • (if a bug) Were you able to recover from the issue: Pressing escape twice will restore movement, but the issue returns every time RMB is pressed.
  • (if a bug) Please include a screenshot or video of the issue that you have experienced: see below
  • What are the steps to reproduce the issue as you experienced: Equip character with e.g. Life Staff, Void Gauntlet and Hatchet, use right mouse button during combat to block, observe that character can no longer be rotated using the mouse, and only move forwards/backwards with WASD keys. Press Escape key twice to restore rotation, then repeat RMB/block and observe issue returns again.

Thanks for posting this - hopefully this will help to raise the profile and get the dev’s attention.
It’s been happening to me a lot today, but it does seem to be very intermittent and tricky to replicate on demand.

having the exact issue it really sucks as a tank as well, had to unbind the block key but muscle memory makes me try to use it :confused:

Yes, exact same issue. It seemed better for a while after first login today but out of nowhere it started happening again.

I noticed it doesnt happen if i just click RMB, but as soon as it is held for any length of time it acts up

Even without clicking RMB, sometimes mouse is leaving the active game window and going to other screen (dual monitor)

Yep. Same here. Additionally relogging fixes it temporarily, but that doesn’t help much when you are in the middle of getting clapped in pvp because you can’t block or turn left or right

same bug here, if u open map, or esc u can move the mouse again. but the bug will continue if u press the LMB and hold some seconds later

I’ve noticed this too. It seems to happen when you go to block (RMB), and then hit the left mouse button to attack. Without flaw when both get pressed down the mouse pointer cursor releases and the only way out of it is to hit escape a couple times. Have died a couple times to it when I’m surrounded by 4 or so mobs and trying to block and then attack.

Very annoying.

Thanks for the double Esc. tip. I have been using Tab inventory screen to correct it.

Is a pain, can’t restore mana with my v. gaunt without it happening.

@whitefoxdarling No problem. Some people seem to be having success with binding block/aim action to a different key or mouse button (Holding Right Click Shows the Mouse +More - #26 by ukkenny4), maybe worth giving that a try to see if it works for you.

having the same issue tried to work around it using my xbox controler and still does the same thing with RMB its so annoying

Update: For me, this issue appears to be have been fixed by the June 15th 2022 patch.
