Chest/Loot gear % sweet spot - It exists and we really need to openly talk about it since i can't prove it

I am getting more crafting mods (the bad green ones everyone has 100’s of) now more than ever after crafting my voidbent set and completing the RW quest chains for the luck amulet and earring. I have done RW loops, Siren and EP runs and have seen almost nothing worth while (logging cap and a couple bad furniture schematics?)
I will test the theory the next couple of days and ditch the jewelry and see if that helps because agreed - quite frustrating.

Before 1.1 I was getting one or two procs of cinnabar/tolvium every 50 Ori nodes.

After 1.1 I’ve been getting one or two procs every 10-20 nodes. Full miner’s set, 9% mining luck amulet, miner luck pickaxe, salted vegetables food, and pvp gathering luck bonus. I definitely feel like the more luck I have the more legendary procs I get.

Have you readed the post at all?

60ish hours of Mourningdale chest runs:

First 4 hours, trash 20% luck gear: 2 trophies

Next 5 hours: 25% luck gear: 1 trophy

Next 10 hours: 31% luck gear: 1 trophy

During the next 40 hours my luck balanced out a bit. I even got 2 drops in one 25 chest run. My guess with 30% luck is around a 1.5% chance to get a trophy per box, as I was hitting around one trophy per 80-100 boxes and people told me I was a bit unlucky compared to them.

Now I’m doing 55+ runs. I did 8 hours straight of 14 boxes and nothing. I’ve since done another 8 hours of 14 boxes and nothing. 224 misses isn’t statistically impossible but dang, does it make me just want to quit the game.

I must have the worst spot lol 1935 chests since my last trophies/weapon piece starting to think I’m bugged also only 2 T5 recipes

Bumb this as much as you can all luck is bugged across the board, the more luck you have the less you get from everything chests, gathering you name it, it is fu@#ed

Gathering seems to be working well enough. Its super RNG and I wouldn’t be surprised if they tinker with it behind the scenes, even at a daily rate.

My proof is sometimes I forget food or remember food and forget to put on the right gear and I definitely get different results.

What I just realized is that how, in Mourningdale I was using two metrics for loot:

  1. How many purples I felt like I was getting

  2. How often furniture items/recipes procced.

Since I’ve been in Reek, I’ve gotten about ~20 pounds of furniture nonsense. In Mourningdale I was getting that much almost every ~1.5 hours. So I’m hitting about 10% as many furniture procs as I used to.

Also I switched over to doing Reek right about the time the patch before this one dropped.

Something is clearly wrong with this slut. I checked a lot of theories, I haven’t checked the pearls yet, I think that they can have an impact on the lack and wearing them cancels the lack of the armor but I’m not sure about it.

I have 2.8% Lack on everything + pearls + full trophies. Friend only has 2.4-2.6% Lack in the set and tracks 2,3 times more epic and legendary items from me. I say this on the basis of making 10 expeditions and several days for excursions to elite chests.

What i can say is i run full 2.8 gear with pearls and luck bags minus a luck earring and i stay flagged. I do days of chest runs, I’m talking I have over a hundred hours (easily) of chest runs…. I have gotten two trophy pieces. I barely ever get decent drops on mobs. A buddy also got 5-6 trophy pieces yesterday in full void bent and pearls so idk. It seems the game hates me and loves him.

The luck system is just adding to me not wanting to play. I get RNG IS always gonna be an issue and hard to prove, but my current loot drops leave me in a non-rewarding game. It’s either craft or go waste more of my life not getting any drops.

I wish they remove luck gears, luck buff, and luck ANYTHING. Make it fair for everyone. Everyone should have same luck imo. Except for gathering luck I guess. Those don’t bother me much. Since if I’m out there gathering my main goal is to farm mats and I can just put on gather luck gear. But if I’m in Elite zone or dungeons, I want to put my BEST GEAR on. Not luck gears.

This is one of my propositions!
Since nobody FEELS that using luck gear gives advantage, let we use our best equips.
Combining that with the elite buffs, its kinda ridiculous.

I agree with this. It’s especially frustrating when running dungeons and everyone has a shit luck set on but it doesn’t seem to matter. I’ve tried many combinations of luck for dungeons and it’s basically negligible. I’ve probably run over 200 dungeons between gen and laz. I don’t have an exact count but I’ve run ~10 laz per day for the past few days alone and have been running dungeons frequently since 60. Some days I don’t even get a single named legendary. I’m trying to get 4 named legendaries from laz and have so far pulled ONE. Do I need to do another hundred to see another?

It is kind of stupid that you have to wear a luck set to fight mobs/bosses to get gear that you won’t wear to fight bosses because you are wearing a luck set. They should just give a luck slot that can be upgraded or increase the luck of trophies and take it off the gear.

For the record, luck systems always breed some form of lack-luster game designs. There’s a reason GW2 removed luck from armor/weapon/trinkets and strictly made it an account feature. It forces players to bring out unoptimized gear, and it encourages zerg-like combat.

I’ve logged over 240 hours at Reekwater doing the three boss rotation. This was with an optimal group, and majority of the time was no more than 10 players. In that time I’ve only, and I repeat ONLY have maxed out my leg slot to 600. Majority of my weapons are around 570’s. Most other armor pieces are around 580’s. Shields, Firestaff, lifestaff, Ice gauntlet, Hammer, and Gaxe are all 540. Rings are at 508, and i’ve never received an earring or amulet drop. It’s honestly the reason why I’ve only played for like 4 hours in the last week and a half. I’m just over it.

I’ve said it numerous times, but there needs to be viable ways to gear up for all aspects of the game. PvE, PvP, Dungeons, crafting, etc… Like, how on earth did they think people would actively want to participate in faction missions when the rewards are just absolute trash? I’ve been very vocal in the forums, I’ve had quite a few chit-chats between some of the devs that choose to participate in the forums, and the wonderful moderators- but I just think it’s best for me to put this game on the back burner and come back when they re-configure a lot of these failing systems. I had 517 hours logged in to the game as of Nov 21st. I’m at 524 hours since then :confused:

edit: this is with full void, luck bags, luck jewelry, and 2 major trophies btw.

I grinded these last fewdays Jewelry expecting this was an HONEST company that did not break a core feature of their game and essentially permalocked me from crafting professions becuse I chose to focus on the story lol the first few months, if my brother wanted to try this game its 2 late…

Worse change is at the generation when elementals dropped motes they where still not enought jewel crafters/ arcana around less than 1% of players now I want the game to tell me how many new level 1 players get to that level if its less than the vry low number then they nerfed these skills currently its 0 and wont be changing not because of ppl but because of fear driven decicions to a core mechanic of the game hunting/harvesting motes. They should have buffed the other motes u need millions of these and a new player can harvest about 10 a min if lucky now theres no Human that will live long enought to get to these max lvl skills after the unreasonable nerf with no buffs to the existing limited methods of mote harvesting.

PLEASE GAME DEVS FIX the Game and try to fix issues that prevent us from reaching the very limited content u have left in game; look at succesfull mmos or games they acnowledge mistakes but they dont punish/break progression because they werent expecting players would be efficient and grind motes ore drops at about 100-300 mats/pictures a harvest motes are 7-20 for a supposed rarer drop and on the legendaries u can 0 motes and a stupid fish instead the changes made only hurt the game and wont made it “harder” just create resent ment with the haves if this was an “exploit” treat it as such but now you have broken a very hard part of the game getting 2 200 arcana just off t1 plants in a hi pop server this will never happen for a new player; if this is why that new player played the game for crafting y would thay want to play this game when so many NOT Broken games are updating years in and not doing purelly fear driven nerf untested and unpopular this is how u kill a gave Dave…
My future review will be one star im changing all the 5 starts I gave it the first month

AND still GOLD is duped in my server I cant sell ANYTHING and I wont spend any substantial gold as its better to wait for mergers and sell out inthis game all together befory they change the gold cap to 1 or something stupid like they did with the only way to harvest elemental animals the coolest hunt u can do…

I do give them an Idea as a fellow Game Dev if u want to make thse ool animals about more than 50% of total mob variety removeb permanently think if in minecraft they removed endermen drops since they dropped enderpearls at a higher rate, now u cant get to the end as thats a requirement to just open the door.
We still have the dungeon doors but no longer can harvesting get you motes so how can you efficiently do this if the only way are plants, mining the new best way but still 10% as profiutable as a single iron spot and about 1% as common for the given resource but about 1000000 more usefull in crafting ITS LITERALLY the CORE to your game now gone please fix it before u have 0% new players progressing and wanting to play…

You will sadly have ppl like me contributing # but not playing like I used to I just feel like staying because I played day 1 and got mostly maxed out but what do I want to do in game nothing as I feel my time is better inveted in killing endermen in my minecraft server that has more active players than new players in all of New World as I atleast know they will only add to their game not take away essential drops because the game devls are scared liltle girls that have no self confidence or understanding of economic principles such as supply and demand (the goverment should ensure the supply not ban it because lol its an EXPLOIT) if it was a bad mechanic u should ban 99% of all players as either they purchased thye motes at a cheap price since they where illegally farmed or accept this as a game necessity and rework the spawn of these beasts make them tougher and thus the reward = the hardship to get them by removing them all together you are just incetivicing players going exploit from exploit just doing them before the game devs notice and not playing the game for whatever fun activity they wish to do please STOP KILLING your Game

People who think you can get wm 600 have no idea what they are talking about.
The softcap is 590 or 591 rest is just pure RNG. and trust me i have more hours in reek and priest :slight_smile:

huh? The ceiling is 600, however the range is 580-600. The potential of getting a 600 drop is merely unlocked. No idea why you think you’re “outwitting” everyone with your snide remarks, but all well.

Not true at all… The original HWM design was “bugged” and you couldn’t exceed 591, however that has been fixed for weeks…
