Class Suggestion: Minion Summoner

Addition of a Minion Summoner would be great. Wouldn’t take a lot of coding either to be honest as most of mobs are already found in game. Minons can have health degeneration so they wont be up forever and have to be recast.

Some of their skills could summon existing earth units such as

  • Muddy Minion - Staff-wielding creatures that shoot blighted projectiles at players from a distance.
  • Genesis Archer - Standard ranged unit. Light and easy to kill.
  • Genesis Fiend - Standard trash mobs which are weak and easy to kill but can be dangerous in numbers and cause explosive damage upon death (maybe explosive and disease or poison)
  • Genesis Hive - Allows players to cast hive which periodically summons Genesis Fiends
  • Genesis Soldier - Standard melee unit equipped with a two-handed crystal mace. Uses a whirlwind attack that hits pretty hard all around the Soldier. (Could be the End Skill at the bottom of the Summoner Tree)

Two tree skill trees one being Summoner minion master tree and another dealing damage over time skills.

I support most suggestions to this game (It has so much potential to grow), but I’m gonna have to disagree with this one. We have way too much latency, crashing, etc for something like this at this time (IMO).

I also don’t think it’s a good fit. Imagine 50v50 wars with a bunch of summoners.

This game is built around PVP. A class that utilizes mobs, which is more about a build rather than skill, seems counter-productive for a game like this. I just don’t see the point in a minion summoning class in a game so focused around PVP. On top of the variety of developmental issues this would likely put the team under.

-Not saying they can’t handle this. I just think I’d rather see the game in a better state overall well before seeing something like this happen.

Pets are not really a good thing for class design. They often lead to stability issues, bugs, abuse etc.

A better approach at this is having spells that you “summon” and the creatures are all animation based.

No need to be negative boys and girls. Just making some suggestions here for new content as devs are busy with squash the bug month :smiley:

BY the way most succesful games are not only PVP. A successful MMO is a balance between PvE and PvP. One cannot survive without the other.

I’m not being negative at all. I respect your suggestion. I just don’t agree with it. I think you’re making a mistake comparing NW to other MMO’s when it’s nothing like them for the most part. New World is, and is supposed to be, PVP focused. That’s the point of the game. That’s what drives it.

Sorry but, I disagree that adding a necromancer/summoning job (which has no fit or purpose in this game) will make it successful.

You’re likely to never get the balance of PVP/PVE in NW that you seem to think it should have. That was never the intention with this game. They were surprised that players even wanted as much PVE as they’ve asked for as it is. Because again… it’s PVP driven/focused.

It will be successful in it’s own way. As, it already is.

Summoner class addition would be great to be honest and judging by the description of what New World is from their website is i wouldnt agree that its supposed to be PVP focused. New World is and will be successful due to the PVP and PVE working in synergy.

This is such a reach it’s laughable.

Have you played this game yet? If you have, then you haven’t hit 60. Or maybe you have but you have no idea what you’re doing in it yet and you haven’t even begun participating in Wars.

The PVE content that this game has… is even all geared towards setting you up for PVP lol. It’s all focused around PVP.

If you don’t get that, then you just don’t get this game. I’m sorry. This is not a typical PVE MMORPG. It was never going to be that way.

1200+ hours played since beta have done all content PvE PVP and 620+ Average expertise. Fast to judge mate.

Been beta tester for many games going back to Everquest I and II, Planetside 1 and 2, Guild wars beta, 1 and two, World of warcraft, Eve online, Aion online and many others but these are the ones off the top of my head.

My opinion is the more we assist in making constructive feedback. The better the game will be.

Absolutely agree with constructive feedback… but you went real quick from “this game needs summoners” to “constructive feedback” lol

It would be incredibly weird if you’re telling the truth about how much you’ve played this game, and you still think that summoners/necromancers are somehow a good idea for this game. In no way, shape, or form does it make any sense. Again, no offense. It just doesn’t.

It’s not a design fit. It’s not a practical fit, and I doubt it would ever be a popular fit.

edit: Would also be weird for you to push PVE so much with that much experience as well, knowing darn well, that this game is PVP driven/focused.

Dont see the point in me lying but here we go. I never said this game NEEDS summoners but Class suggestion: Minion Summoner is constructive feedback. I understand you are a solely PVP player or lean towards it but this game has more content which probably you havent given a try properly.

Also you should have a read what New Wolrd is as from the screenshot i attached below from their official website.

I’m not solely a PVP player. I play all content in this game that I can get around to doing. But to pretend like this game isn’t pvp focused/driven is ridiculous. It 100% is.

PVP is the entire point of this game.
