Clearly the Christmas event was a last minute thing. Felt lazy and must have taken AGS a whole 2 hours to make. How can AGS make holiday events ACTUALLY FUN?

I believe the event was “alright”, I like the store items and some of the effects pertaining to the event.

I do feel that the Winter Warrior (Yeti) was too similar to just a corruption portal with a massive tank and spank boss, and you had to farm it quite a bit to get all of the rewards. The presents on the ground and random gleamite spawns were not close to the reward yield of this boss.

In my opinion it could be better with more events on the map, maybe a special mutation that runs which is Christmas themed for one of the dungeons (mutators based on ice and whatnot), and a second tier of the event maybe that is for the last week before Christmas until New Year that would draw people in around the holidays that may not have family or friends to celebrate with.

Some of my “ideas” do not have depth, but those are some things off of the top of my head at 9 AM before work.

Overall I am happy with what we got, but I could see some improvements to make the event more memorable for the holidays.

Honestly enjoying it, I do wish they had focused more on new rewards instead of just repeating everything, but overall I think it’s nice.

It’s just frustrating to see the state of their open world experience right now, the best part are the Gleemite meteors but I’ve only seen a few because the game really doesn’t give me any reason to wander around anymore. Don’t have any storage to really gather much. Kinda wish they did what ESO does, or at least what I’ve been told they do. Pay for a way so you can effectively gather indefinitely.

But they need more random nodes, random open world content, etc, and reasons to explore the open world. I think the highest tier world bosses need a map icon and “announcement” but they need lesser ones that can only be stumbled upon. I have my thread but not sure if it’s locked by now, been less engaged with the forums since the whole community fragmentation issue.

Most cultures have things called “traditions”. They are usually repeated. Occasionally, things get added and/or removed, but the overall theme…is the same year after year after century…

There are a new rewards…either like them or don’t. Skins are nice “presents” and some of the patterns give you nice options to obtain some useful gear (for all but the super meta chasers). I’ve been after my gf to put together a decent corrupted ward set…this was a great solution for her. I made a few sets myself. They make good ECR sets.

A new boss (he is just a bit too much like the boss we JUST had)…that sure as heck beat running the roads for days fighting everyone for lost presents like last year. Those threads were never ending.

NOT needing to regrind the rep again was awesome…felt good to pick up where I left off…like I was building off of last years efforts.

The really like the core of this event. I would like to see real quests next year. Where are the gleamite comets this year?!?!? Otherwise, if you just try to have a little fun and not expect BIS from an event…you might enjoy it more.

You may not like the look, but it’s good to have GS600 patterns. Change the skin to something you like.

I have witnessed 3 so far (and mined them), and have heard a couple of others. They exist.

I have seen several, and had one burst directly overhead last night. I was running around gathering it all up because I was the only one in the area at that moment. :smile:

No Xmas tree, no Santa outfits, horrible world boss fights with 1 million ads that 1 shot you… SO FUNN especially on dead servers that never get merged. Turkey event for Thanksgiving was way more relaxing, a chicken walking around and shooting lasers. Halloween & Winter world bosses are a pain in every way. Unless you are on a streamer paid/promoted streamer, no one else is doing it.

I think the devs put about the right amount of effort into the events. I’ve seen a few gleamite showers and each time it was pretty exciting and I stopped what I was doing to gather it. Last year I think the gleamite was more common (or I was close to it more often) and I wasn’t even bothering to mine it at the end.

I like the big event boss style they have been using for the last few events and think the community aspect of the train running is quite suitable for the season. However, it would be good to see this scale to population, as a long fight with a few people for a fairly lacklustre reward is not fun.

The biggest failing would probably be a lack of generosity in the rewards. The presents almost always give the same 5 tokens and it seems very rare to get a pattern. Seemed like we got a lot more patterns and premium tokens last year. I don’t actually need more stuff, so it’s fine, but I’ve heard a lot of people complain and I think if there were more premium tokens in the gift boxes, people wouldn’t have to grind the Winter Warrior and could instead retain the fun memories of early battles.

Because New World is an Amazon Basic product. So, its quality is like all the other Amazon Basic products.

Take a look a the difference between New World’s events and other MMOs which shall not be named holiday events. It’s a pretty big difference.

Unfortunately that’s not quite enough information to make an accurate comparison. Lots of games have seasonal events but because you fail to describe the difference there’s no way to know how much better or worse NW’s events are when compared.

Look at the GW2 and BDO forums and maybe look at some Winter’s Day YouTube videos? Do the footwork yourself.
