Combat Analysis - DPS, TPS, HPS Meter

For Lord of The Rings Online (a casual mmorpg), there is an excellent plugin called “Combat Analysis”

This is not a shared meter, but personal one with the ability to send your own DPS, TPS, HPS etc. to any chat channel should you wish as well as a very useful tool for assessing incoming and outgoing damage, heals, buffs, debuffs etc.

I know some players are reluctant to have a group DPS meter on screen for all to see during dungeons & raids, which can lead to some unwanted behaviour. This provides a much better solution and I would argue is more constructive when progressing dungeons and raids.

Individuals can monitor their own performance quietly without fear of being named & shamed and more focused groups have the ability to share data upon request.

If New World is to be taken seriously for raids, it should have some in built tools like this (since third party plugins are not allowed).

if it is a meter that only i can see i would be all for it. show how much damge i do, how much healing i do, how much healing it takes to keep me up, etc. that way i can evaluate my own performance.

but i am against shared meters. i know in some games this causes some really bad gameplay in instanced dungeons for example. dps who have tunnel vision for the meter will constantly jump ahead before the tank pulls just to get more dps in, and they will do all kinds of stupid stuff that makes the healer have to heal them more often just so they can be higher on the meter.

so for me, personal meter for me to critique myself fine. shared meter without my permission, not fine.

Dps meters are the only way to know if you are at your best.
Shared or personal, I don’t care. Very useful for group content with randoms, so you can know when to push or just quit that party and save time.

In my experience something like combat analysis is the best solution to cater for both casuals and hardcore.

A tiny icon near toolbar (show/hide) opens up a small resizable box bottom right hand side about 3-4 lines deep detailing total DPS, TPS, HPS with send to chat button.

Extremely useful is the ability to drill down to get more detail for DPS, TPS, HPS. For example clicking on a DPS figure then gives detailed breakdown of DPS for each attack, clicking on TPS a detailed breakdown on damage taken (from which attacks, min, max, average for that attack, what type of damage etc).
