As a melee trying to catch a archer that got in way to close, or just having fights in general always there is 1 thing that keeps bothering me. Back to back iframes , not 1 not 2 or 3 , but like 5-7 in combination with rapier’s stamina regen passives.
why?. if i for example try to land a vault kick (something that is already quite hard to land compared to AoE hammer stun, or most other stuns) and i phase trough the guy not for like a perfect dodge moment but just for like 2 full seconds of “cannot hit”. WHILE physically being on him (our characters are practicly clipping in eachother).
i can truly appriciate good well timed dodges and have nothing but respect for it.
i am however really turned down by multiple instances of attacks that are longer ranged or even guns or arrows, or even the easy to use greataxe reap pull for 8 meters, just to see the attacks “make physical contact” but phase trough the body, i believe the dodges are amazingly well put in this game. but they do need some more love obviously.
this is my findings after being in many fights with many builds against many builds, and i have to say please stop this. make the dodges like animations that can actually “dodge” if well done. the hitboxes in this game are quite good (had a instance or two where a headshot wouldnt hit the wolf untill i hit it further down the neck, but in general rlly good). wich makes landing shots HARDER and making people phasing trough the 1 shot you would have hit just feel like absolute bullshit. imo the dodge animation and the dodge itself should work in a way that you actually “get out of the way” and not be like, "wanna see me pass trough a wide swing of your hammer face first? " kind of joke.
That combined with small latency desyncs in mid combat, i cannot really use my “senses”. i have to play with a latency in mind and start predicting the future 1 second ahead.
Just to disclaim: im talking about the fact that projectiles OR the actual weapon itself that make “physical contact” with the body while in iframe mode as i like to call it, should still hit. other then that, i can only respect people who play good and have well timed beautifull dodges.
