Combat worse than before, need an urgent fix this cannot wait until next month's patch

Here’s an idea. Keep all the QoL changes that came with the latest patch, but revert ALL combat changes to the version before it. It was manageable when we had to deal with minor bugs and glitches, but now it just isn’t fun and I don’t think we can keep enduring this madness for long.

The combat changes were not ready, please just take them back to the lab.

Yea, the QoL changes were really good.

I remember them saying they were going to take their time and release patches when ready. Then they immediately set hard timelines for patches, and instead of releasing several smaller more manageable patches the opted for wide sweeping patches that effect literally every aspect of the game. This is clearly not in their ability to manage, I don’t understand why they don’t recognize their own limits as a studio and develop the game on a path that they can manage instead of sweeping changes month by month.

Why did the opr rewards have to be tied weapon que system for example. Should have been separated smaller more manageable patches.

looks like the PTR is not served to test all those new changes to prevent bugs and issue in production server… but it is more like a sneak peek server to advertise their new release.

Its a sad sad day to blame the players for the QA of a game. Sad sad sad day.

Can you link me to the bug post you made when you realized something was wrong? I want to see what you reported.

That is the point of the PTR, lol. You play the upcoming release and report bugs. All I said is that not everyone does that. That’s placing blame on all “players”?

Its called PTR not PBHR (Public bug hunt realm)

Its a test realm for players to test the new content.

If you were to do a “taste test” , you aren’t testing if the food is toxic or not, you are testing if it tastes good or not.

You literally did blame the players tho? “they can only test it so much and rely on the players to play test and report bugs.”

There should be a QA department Amazon hires to test these bugs. they need over 100 testers. right now they are outsourcing that work onto the players in order to save money.

I agree, combat is the worst it’s ever been. Melee is basically dead if you’re not a Grav well bot

That is not a proper bug report which further proves my point that people play PTR and dont report bugs PROPERLY. The devs don’t work out of the General Discussion forum. There is a bug reporting thread in the PTR section of the forum and bugs are supposed to be posted there in the bug reporting format. All I’m saying is not a lot of people do that. Sure, there are posts there but most are the same few people reporting bugs they find over and over.

Normally I would agree that people don’t really report these things enough, but I personally spammed reports about the combat all through PTR. I’ve also done so almost daily on this current PTR. In their latest devblog they said that the in-game report is the best way since they have markers to track everything properly and that’s what I’ve always used. It’s possible that not enough people reported these issues, but that’s no excuse since they were definitely reported.

They simply didn’t listen to the feedback like they said they would. If they even played the build internally before release they would notice that something was seriously wrong.

Just wait until next patch, combat will be fixed I promise

edit: If this bug makes it to live, I 100% am quitting this game for atleast a year.

Quit trying to argue a point when reality is many have reported this issue. I don’t play the ptr. I don’t have time to test games for Amazon. So if I am given a garbage product from the result of me not testing how does that fall on me as a consumer? Think about it bud. It’s up to Amazon to test their products before release not the consumers all I can do is showcase how it’s broken. As a consumer I am free to post anywhere I don’t work for Amazon and can not be held liable for their failures.

If what you say is true, and they felt “rushed” to release the Feb. patch on the last day of the month, then there really is no hope for this game. But, I think we already know that. It’s great the Dev team is listening to feedback, but it won’t help if they aren’t capable of producing a relatively stable game.

I played OPR all day today and what I discovered is that the new combat fucking sucks, AGS. Particularly the light armor movement, ability queues, and desync. I like your game, but this isn’t fun. Your last patch would have been a success if you just didn’t messed with the combat so much. You did not need to do this.

Also, I’m pretty sure you didn’t fix weapon swapping at all.

99.9% of the bugs that have a real effect on the game can be experienced by the devs themselves if they play their own game for one day.

True and a good point. The devs do get some credit for listening to feedback, and that is not the problem. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry made a reservation, but they didn’t keep it.

Don’t worry, that bug is already in live, I get it nearly daily and the only way to fix is to swap weapons, makes PvP real interesting
