Companies embezzling Gold from towns

There has been major issues since beta regarding companies holding territories just to hoard gold instead of build them up. During the beta there was one guild that had a company on each faction that ended up controlling the entire map and instead of upgrading any stations, they took the money for themselves. Now in the live game there’s still companies doing this. They purposely through invasions to downgrade the city and never upgrade them saying it’s too expensive, yet if you check the taxes they are pulling in 3-4x the weekly cost of upkeep. There needs to be a way to either overthrow large companies or kick them out of power. We can’t refuse to fight for them bc they just pay off the best fighters of other factions to either fight with them, or stand out of their factions battles.

They hoard the gold, then sell it to others for RL cash, at least in some cases. Basically gold farming. Need to bring out the ban hammer!

They won’t make money if people don’t live there. If folks are fed up, they should move out.

It’s not supposed to be a PVP only game now but the game is controlled by the PVP guilds at the top. It’s a long term recipe for disaster as the PVE players get sick of it and leave for other games.

Moving out won’t change it when they own the entire map

Not just that but the PvP players who never get selected or a chance to participate in half the games content

Literally a game where AGS has created a system of ‘Haves’ and Have nots’ where content is locked away and gold is syphoned away by the guilds. It is not sustainable long term.

Imo, companies should have no access to the gold earned from taxes. Other than for upgrades ofc. How come none at AGS thought that giving companies access to hundreds of thousands gold per week is a terrible idea.

Not only that. Ony server they are buying out all the high end craftingats and selling top tier items they craft since they’ve basically gate locked reaching end game crafting in any reasonable time

Everyone on the server is OK with this? Sounds like a leadership challenge someone needs to take on. Even within the majority faction, you could probably recruit some faction-transfers to help the cause (I assume it’s profitable, but not that much fun to own the entire map).

I think if you take away the ability to generate income nobody will care for the territories. I say make it so they can only withdraw after taxes have been paid for the week, and if there are upgrades that could be done scale it off the number they actually tried to push through

There is nothing we can do. They pay off all the top PvP players to refuse to fight to take their territory or to fight for them to keep it. Everyone has a price. Over the past 3 weeks they pulled in over 1.3 mil gold and only 90k in tax payments.

True, money for guilds should be rewards for successfully upgrading settlements and winning wars/invasions.

I’m not saying you’re lying… but I am having a hard time believing this is the whole story.

In the end, my point is, go do something about it! I guarantee you there are a LOT of people who don’t like the status quo on your server. Someone just has to bind them together to fight back. Pardon my optimism… I know it rubs off wrong on some folks.

Lmao nah the optimism is always appreciated in times like these. But I have tried to bring people together in faction and global chat over it. The concern there is large amounts of mass reporting happening on the server so last thing I want is a 24hr ban for trying to do the right thing

That mostly happens if one mistakes optimism for delusions. If there were a chance on the server to band together in the way you propose, it would never have gotten that bad in the first place.

Why company vault is not a deposit only? It would definitively fix a lot of problems when it comes to abuse. So all generated and donated gold stays inside the company and can only be used for company matters. Or withdraw option that can only work as equal distribution of gold to every member.

Well, I wish I was there to help you out. Good luck to all you being governed by tyrants!

Settlements have become a way for PvP players to harrass PvE players by increasing taxes randomly. PvE players don’t PvP almost at all and it’s impossible to expect any balanced outcome from the settlement system in its current form.
While PvE players can use the trading posts from outposts as a neutral choice, there’s still the problem of expensive house rent, overtaxed crafting/refining at high lvl 5 stations and the lack of town projects.

Moving forward, Outposts need to be changed to offer PvE players an alternative or alot of players will simply quit the game. With the free transfer, alot of players made the choice to transfer running away from toxic servers only to end up on similar scenario servers.

Another issue that is happening right now, is the possibilty of companies to capture the entire map with no pentaly or restriction, by not paying upkeep for the captured settlements.

This picture right here is proof why the current system is not working and more than 30% of the server population already transfered due to a single company owning more than half the map, kicking players from invasions/wars, blocking content for everyone and setting taxes to high.

This is causing the game to lose players and needs to be adressed. There needs to be a global upkeep for each company owning settlements that includes all their settlements to prevent this type of domination.

PS: If any of you think they can challenge this, server is called Penglai-Vanaheim Tau-Eu Central.

valid point but doesn’t fit with herd mentality.

You need someone that is actually outside the box to organize a rebellion. Most people do not have the time, motivation, or expertise to do such a thing in a Video Game.
