Companies are kicking the randomly selected players so that they can have a full roster of their friends, it seems unintended that they can do this as for these wars/invasions they get to pre select 10 of their players and the other 40 are random but have to be level 50 at least so they can’t be useless in the scenarios.
I’ve been selected multiple times now for these scenarios just to be kicked a couple of minutes later by the governing company. You could argue that they have earnt the territory and therefore deserve to choose who defends it but this clearly isn’t intended or they would be able to select all 50 players. If this were the case it is locking a massive part of the endgame to 5-10% of players. If it’s not fixed within the next few patches I imagine the player base will begin to fall off as part of the game is completely off limits if you’re not part of one of the 3 governing clans that own the entire map.
At this point in the game, if you’re not level 60, you’re useless. I think a better alternative is to introduce a gearscore minimum for participation.
I don’t usually participate in wars, just all the pvp events leading up to it. They’re a laggy mess right now, anyway. To be honest with you, I’m not entirely interested in ever participating in one. But I’ll say this much: I wouldn’t want random dead weight defending my faction’s territory and risk losing it. If it were up to me, I’d let the governing company dictate ALL the slots and not just 10 of them.
Does that lock out a large portion of the playerbase from participating? Absolutely. And that is, inherently, a problem with the system. But it’s the system we have right now, and I’m not interested in losing territory because everyone wants a participation trophy.
I’ve thought about this problem a lot and if I’m being honest, I have no idea what the right answer is. I know the system is broken. There’s a problem when the biggest draw to this game is locked away from about 85% of the playerbase.
I’ve thought about how possible fixes could include compartmentalizing the war more - perhaps having several different battles take place in different regions, with the winning faction being the one who wins 2 out of 3 of them - or something to that extent. Perhaps expanding the fight could allow for more participation?
I understand that they throw people out to bring their clan, their friends or their faction (in the invasions).
But yesterday, in an invasion, the leader of a green clan kicked me 10 times in a row (I am green lv60 550gs), on the eleventh I stopped accepting invitations despite being notified continuously.
Woah. Woah. Woah. You didn’t work for the city, and you don’t care about the city. I’m gonna what’s BEST for MY city and my ALLIES cities. We have a solid 50 man squad that runs our wars. Yes I agree it sucks you don’t get to participate and we have taken cities just to give the to Randoms so they can experience war. They lose on the first go around every time. We are 15-0. If you wanted to experience wars why didn’t you buy a city in the beginning? I started with 6 guys and now have a company/allied company of over 60, all in discord, all PVP flagged 24/7 solo or not. I’m not trying to be disrespectful with these comments I just think people need to understand what’s at stake. I worked VERY hard for my city and you just wanna come in and NOT be in discord and NOT listen to our experienced shotcallers. We don’t allow Randoms into the army unless they are vouched for by knowledgeable players. You lose nothing if you throw a war and several key moments in the many wars we have had have come down to a single player or group making a huge play. I run my 50 man army because its what’s BEST for my company. You wanna participate in wars? Attack a city and get the lotto OR prove that you are a SAVAGE PVP player. 10 of our 50 made a NAME for themselves on server. They were never brought in as friends. (They are now) They claimed to be the best and proved it by running PVP flagged everywhere and making purps cry a lot. Taking on 50 man zergs and wiping the floor with only 10 members. I reached out and asked them if they wanted to try a war with us and we never turned back. Long story short, Its not fair to you OR to me. But in the end, you don’t give a crap about my city, the long nights grinding, the politics, the enemies made along the way and the friends. You only wanna play war because you think you are a special snowflake and AGS should make you feel that way. No, YOU write your story in this game. Become a legend and become an unmissable part of your servers legacy OR stop trying to ruin others gameplay experience and go hit some rocks NOT PVP flagged and miss out on that opportunity to win that 1v3 against LVL 60s when you are only level 48 and that story being told by bystanders for days. YOUR choice.
We just got to the point (later added servers) were we are able to put in 50 lvl 50+ but we can only select 10 of who joins the war, not even 10 from our own company. How can you prep for that thing without atleast setting up who is in what team in advance. We have allies and friends in different factions who we want to join and who will but it’s all random.
i can’t tell squad x to go somewhere cuz i don’t know who is in what squad.
Putting a limit on adding people from your company i can understand but not neccessarily useful if you want everyone to be on discord. Organisation for this war is key we own the territory give us the tools to atleast defend it properly! We losing upgrades just because we can’t defend properly and also the bug with crafting stations being stuck in their downgraded state isn’t helping us.
Do you pay for my city? 35k a week, I should be able to choose whoever I please to participate in my invasions/wars. We have detailed analytics at the end of wars/invasions. Most “Randoms” Do no damage at all (less than 2k dmg) and no repair. Whereas Me and my 10 homies are putting up 500k to 1mill damage a game, PVP or PVE doesn’t matter. It isn’t against TOS for me to not wanna spend ANOTHER 10k gold on cannons or 10K gold on another upgrade just because you want to play. You don’t put up the money to fund my city so why do you care to defend it? Also, if its so bad for me to ban people from my wars/invasions WHY DONT YOU OWN A CITY? Its easy to push pvp quests and go to in conflict. If you don’t win lotto do it the next day and the next, we have done 25+ wars on our server already of those only 16 were defense. PLEASE stop saying silly stuff like this, the devs will listen to you, THEN when you OWN a city and cant properly defend because you have random terrible players that put up no damage / AFK in fort. you’ll come here and complain that “Its not fair I dont get to choose my party in wars/invasions” I’ve pumped 200k+ in gold in my city an investment I will keep until I stop playing this game. You haven’t spent a dime on MY city you don’t get to tell me what to do. When you own something that you spend SOOOOO much time and money on you see it from another side. You wont want "xXxTentaclegirlxXx in your Invasion AGAIN because last war that person only did 1536 DMG and killed NO MOBS BUT DIED 26 TIMES! Meanwhile I did LEGITIMATLY 1 MILLION DAMAGE and killed 156 mobs. If xXxTentaclegirlxXx had preformed HALF as good as me or MY GUILD (Which owns the city BTW) We could’ve won and I wouldn’t have to wait 5 days and spend 50k to repair my city. THINK before you speak. You certainly aren’t a territory OWNER by the way you speak on this subject thus, you DO NOT HAVE THE FACTS to back up such a ridiculous claim “If you kick people from your invasions you should be 100% perma-banned, no tolerance, no empathy.” Get out! We don’t need people like you in this community.
Yes I do pay for the city I tried to fight for along with every other person who has a house in that city, don’t pretend you’re going out grinding 10k just to upgrade the turrets. There is tax in the city for a reason.
I also didn’t claim if you kick people from the wars you should be perma-banned. I don’t think it should be allowed and yes this is targeted at the devs so that they can enforce what they intended with letting the controlling company recruit 10 of their best players and the other 40 are random. You’re forgetting this would be the same rule for every war and both sides would have 10 pre selected players and 40 randoms.
You can argue the logistics of it all you like, the fact is the devs intended it to be 10 pre selected 40 random and the way companies are getting around this at the minute is by kicking 40 players with no good reason just so they can play with their “homies”. Regardless of how you feel, the developers will fix this and you won’t have a full 50 man premade and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it, and when you lose the city, noone will care except you.
Honestly the fact that invasions of the territory you’ve worked hard to acquire, build up, and maintain are filled with 40 randoms is actual cancer.
I’ve literally watched opposing factions get into invasions and sit on cannons/ballistas and never fire a shot, or horde repair parts so no one can repair, just to try to grief them in hopes the town and fort get downgraded. This is a bad take OP.
It’s fine if they kick people, but remove the server generated “free” gold from those event then, and force the defending/attacking company to pay the reward for the participants. That would be fair then.
the problem i see is people telling me to generate new gold i should participate in wars and invasions. i try, and get kicked, so i lose out on those incomes. so i moan about not really having a way of constant money generated. and then the town leaders go all “ohh boohoo PVEplayer, cant you make money? how about you start manning up and PVP for sum war to make money?”
