This game is feel like it’s all about companies.
I really don’t see how u can enjoy as a solo players, unless u enjoy hitting your E button 1m times a day.
This game feels like it’s all about companies right? to me at least.
Then why managing a Company is such pain in the a***, with the most missing basic features?
Here is a story, some Consul took a lot of coin from my Company, I’m on a dead server, so any coin matter here.
How can I discover who that is and purge him from my guild? I can’t.
I don’t even wanna think how bigger and richer guilds can handle this.
What if we had 1m coin? any Consul can just take it and get away with it, even worse, he can stay in the guild and do it again.
This is a bad design u should patch ASAP, it gives trolls and low life forms the ability the shut down guilds completely and destroy their will to keep going on this low community servers with barely functioning gameplay of this very unpolished game.
Also, think about the guilds that are not pre-made communities, like mine (all recruited in new world), we are struggling way more than a pre-made community, and this destroyed our motivation to continue.
Situation right now on my guild is the moral got broken, none consuls because I demoted them all as caution. But the fact I need to punish innocent loyal members due to one guy action, is just… no words…
With wars and invasions, companies are “responsible” for a large part of endgame activity.
It’s a simple fact that an organized group of players can achieve much more than a single player or a bunch of randoms.
If you’re randomly recruiting people from your server, people you do not know, people you haven’t played with for long - why would you put them in a position where they can withdraw money from the company? I think this is entirely your fault for promoting people to consul too quickly.
My strategy revolved around hitting E one million times a day and now I have 5000kg of Water in my shed that I can’t sell. The grass isn’t any greener on our end!!
What about copy the x lines of code, to limit cosuls whitdraw as did for officers?
So I should not trust anyone that isn’t known from previous experience or IRL?
It makes no sense what you just wrote.
Not everyone brought their 300 members community and got their zone after 1 day of farming,
Some companies built from scratch and having much harder time, so they should not exists? I should not have consuls? cuz 1 man can’t manage a company that’s for sure, the IRL price I made to reach what we are today is already much.
Lol, in an MMO of 200K+ players you think every company is going to be comprised of people who know each other. Fact is, most are going to be randos and giving gamers agency to steal you’re going to get a lot of unpleasantness. IMO, OP is correct and it’s bad for the game and it’s a bad design.
Are you sure that no upgrades were made? If the consul member took the company gold then you should at least set a withdrawal limit so that no other situation like this happens again. Just remember to check if there are no boosters or town upgrades that they might have used it for before you start pointing fingers.
Try and set up a company Discord so that you and your company leaders can keep communicating on all your company activities.
Consuls are supposed to be there to sub in for governors when they’re not around, consuls are supposed to have access to the whole company treasury, if a governor doesn’t trust them, then keep everyone as officer which can do exactly the same things as a consul except they’re tied to the withdraw limit and can’t put other company members as officers
People promote other people too easily to consul and wonder why they keep getting screwed over
That’s really unfortunate. Maybe ask in global chat for people to run some quests in your area for a while and do some crafting at least that way you can earn back a percentage of what was taken.
I would demote all consul and officers and set some withdrawal limits first, only then to reinstate 100% trusted members if I were you
Absolutely not. However, the game does not give gamers agency to steal. OP gave HIS members agency to steal. He wasn’t forced to do so. He gave random people he can not trust permissions that can screw over the entire company - and so they did. Not just that, it sounds like OP was handing out consul like spaghetti. They’re meant to be the guild leaders closest associates and there is no reason to have more than 2 or 3 actually trustworthy guys in this position. Why promote everyone and their uncle to consul? You seldomly need permissions above officer, only for town upgrades and wars. Why hand those permissions out like candy?
I think you greatly overestimate the amount of trust that can be given out in this setting. The reports of treasuries being cleaned out validates my point but it is what it is and I don’t really have anything else to add.
EVE Online handles this issue by having seven or eight guild banks and you can assign a person to only be allowed to withdrawal from one, so you can give them a budget to work with.
