AGS told Overwolf to reduce the accuracy of the player position, which effects all Overwolf apps. The motivation of this change is to fight farming bots.
All Overwolf apps are still usable and not against the TOS. The devs are taking this topic serious. Aeternum Map has some extrapolation implemented and feels more smooth
Completely agree. In fact, as of now, I’m not returning to the game until overwolf is allowed to proceed with rt tracking as before. It was a great feature and I didn’t consider it cheating at all since I was ALWAYS at the kb when using it and it saved a ton of time when looking for specific resources. Also, I MOSTLY used it as an open map (like the m key in the game) for moving about the world.
This is yet another reflection of the real world, at least here in the US. The very smalll minority (botters) are getting attention while the vast majority (regular gamers) are negatively affected by the decisions authorities (AGS) make. “The needs of the many should outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.”
Nurfing player position accuracy is a nuisance at best. Sure, I rely on the mini map to navigate in real time. I can still see assets on the map. At least I can still get close. I am not in a race with anyone so if it takes a few extra seconds to find a resource, that is better than not having the mini map at all.
I do wish they would return positioning accuracy to pre nurf condition.
