Computer Freeze within minutes of EXITING New World

It’s strange. It doesn’t matter how long I run the app for-- playing for hours or just launching and exiting from the opening screen-- within a few minutes after exiting and closing the game, my computer will freeze up forcing me to manually restart it. It happens every time.

I have tried searching for similar issues, but don’t see anything matching the description. My drivers are all up to date and the game files are verified in Steam.

Windows 10 64 bit
Intell Core i5-9400F CPU @ 2.91Ghz
32GB RAM
GeForce GTX 1660, 16GB
Realtek HD audio

Hello moondog548,

Welcome to the New World’s Forums.

I really appreciate you’re communicating to us about this issue, and also I want to thank you for sharing that you almost did all the troubleshooting related with this issue.

For this issue you can follow this troubleshooting related with AGS Files that are linked within New World:

  1. Windows + R type in %APPDATA%
  2. Go to Local and Roaming (Both files will include an AGS file) and open them.
  3. Rename the AGS sub-folder ‘‘New World’’ to something different like ‘’_New World"
  4. This will refresh the cache files within New World and remove the error launching the game.

Please let us know as soon as possible if after these troubleshooting the problem persist.

Thanks for all your feedback and specially your patience. :man_mage: :small_blue_diamond:
